It seems all is not well for BJP in Uttar Pradesh. After Amit Shah’s attempt at communal polarization by suggesting that laptops which are given out for free by UP Government are reaching people of only one community, PM Modi has also tried his hand at communal polarization. At an election rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Ramzan me bijli athi hai tho Diwali me bhi ani chahiye; Bhedbhav nhi hona chahiye (If there is electricity during Ramadan then it must be available during Diwali too; there shouldn’t be any discrimination)”. The PM also said “Gaon me kabristan banta hai to shamshaan bhi banna chahiye (If there is a ‘kabaristaan’ (graveyard), there should be a ‘shamshaan’ (cremation ground) too.”

By playing the Hindu-Muslim polarisation card by comparing Diwali/Ramzan and Kabristan/Shamshaan, BJP is defaulting to its usual tactics. Many people on social media reacted harshly to this. We have captured some of the comments here. Gur Sandhu had the following comment on this issue on his Facebook account

Narender modi should be prosecuted for using religion to seek votes as per the clear and direct direction of Supreme Court of India . Otherwise this countries liberal are failing this nation’s fundamental pillars of existence , otherwise it is going to put this nation on a path of seperation which would result in millions of deaths in next few decades and bring difficult days for all of this nation. Read the exact words of PM Modi said. “Ramzan me bijli athi hai tho Diwali me bhi ani chahiye; Bhedbhav nhi hona chahiye (If there is electricity during Ramadan then it must be available during Diwali too; there shouldn’t be any discrimination)” the prime minister added. He could have said that there should be electricity everyday instead he used religious colors. His persecution should provide a great example for others to follow, otherwise there is no question for any common man to follow it . And for mr. Modi a question what he and his fanatics done in last 3 years for inclusive growth in this countries , figures show nothing ? Fooling people is only his achievement , it may take people to realise that very late but they will eventually , by then correctional surgery would be too late for this nation.?????

Rahul Gandhi & Akhilesh are talking about jobs, education, healthcare etc.
Modi & Amit Shah talking kabristan & shamshaan. Dont know about Ramzan and Diwali, but the way Modi Sarkar is going there will be lot of demand for Kabristaan and Shamshaan!

Let someone ask our Prime Minister-what can be more communal than this assertion ? Can it be a fact that in our country anyone can dare provide electricity to an area during Ramzan & deny the same during Diwali !! My dear Prime Minister, this is your real face. The ultimate refuge of BJP and its cohorts.Resorting to communal polarization. But the voters of Uttar Pradesh and elsewhere may not pass this heinous move this time.

While addressing an elections rally in Fatehpur(U.P) today Narendra Modi said”Ramzan me bijli athi hai tho Diwali me bhi ani chahiye; Bhedbhav nhi hona chahiye” Narendra Modi by Shamelessly seeking votes on communal basis by bringing issue of supply of electricity for Ramadan and Diwali, has violated the election code of conduct. It shows that he has intelligence reports that BJP has no chance of coming to power in UP and he is making last ditch attempt to polarise voters by playing the communal card. Election Commission should debar all BJP candidates in today’s and all subsequent phases. We are ashamed that we have such a person as our Prime minister.

The gutter talk starts again. The same gutter talk based on which they have been dividing the country, to a large extent successful too. Now they want vote from UP. So they start the religious discrimination. Ugly people and their jumlaas. These guys shd b stripped and exposed in public of their ugly face. Let them not destroy the social fabric of our great nation.

My dear friends as a citizen I always say that PM Modi is dividing citizens inside nation and we know several examples are there , now this is one more example . No PM did before the way he is doing now. Sitting in a top position inside nation this is the way Modiji is dividing citizens just for vote bank.

Why has Mr Modi shifted from the ‘Vikas’ slogan to this polarization strategy? Is he afraid that BJP is slipping in Uttar Pradesh?
