These are the words of Union Minister for Science &amp; Technology Dr.\u00a0Harsh Vardhan. Even Stephen Hawking said, our Vedas might have a theory superior to Einstein\u2019s law E=MC2. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/moefcc?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@moefcc<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/IndiaDST?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@IndiaDST<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/QP9PbLElCd\">pic.twitter.com\/QP9PbLElCd<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Dr. Harsh Vardhan (@drharshvardhan) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/drharshvardhan\/status\/974582285407318017?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 16, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/india\/stephen-hawking-said-vedas-have-theory-superior-to-albert-einsteins-emc2-harsh-vardhan-5100099\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Indian Express<\/a> has reported that when Dr. Harsh Vardhan was asked the source of this information, no clear answer was forthcoming. Alt News decided to look into the basis of this claim. We found that this theory that the Vedas could be the repository of knowledge superior to Einstein&#8217;s theory of relativity is not exactly new and has been floating in the public domain for some time now; for example, as posted below on a website <a href=\"http:\/\/serveveda.org\/?p=650\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.serveveda.org <\/a>which calls itself\u00a0<em>Institute of Scientific Research on Vedas<\/em>. This was originally pointed out by <em><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sandygrains\/status\/974568372024238085\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@sandygrains<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>who is the science editor with the online news portal <em>ThePrint.\u00a0<\/em>The above article from <em>serveveda.org<\/em> too was sourced from this Facebook page.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10315\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/03\/Selection_16_03_2018_006.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"912\" height=\"370\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/03\/Selection_16_03_2018_006.png 912w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/03\/Selection_16_03_2018_006-300x122.png 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/03\/Selection_16_03_2018_006-768x312.png 768w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/03\/Selection_16_03_2018_006-696x282.png 696w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 912px) 100vw, 912px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We also looked up Stephen Hawking&#8217;s website to see if there is any reference to the Vedas. However, the handle of the page is <em>@hari.scientist<\/em> which clearly indicates that it is not Professor Hawking&#8217;s official page. The official Facebook page of Stephen Hawking can be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/stephenhawking\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accessed here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This Facebook post that can be seen below was posted on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/hari.scientist\/posts\/172455986180618\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">November 10, 2011<\/a>. The post refers to the work by Dr. Sakamuri Sivaram Babu while claiming that &#8216;Vedas might have a superior theory to Einstein&#8217;s E=mc^2&#8243;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10307\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/03\/stephen1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"764\" height=\"601\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/03\/stephen1.png 764w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/03\/stephen1-300x236.png 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/03\/stephen1-696x548.png 696w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/03\/stephen1-534x420.png 534w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 764px) 100vw, 764px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The above Facebook post is also referred to in the <em>serveveda.org<\/em> article. Mr Veda Kavi from <em>serveveda<\/em> had <a href=\"http:\/\/serveveda.org\/blog\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2016\/03\/Letter-to-Dr-Hawking.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sent an email to Professor Hawking<\/a> regarding the same. <a href=\"http:\/\/serveveda.org\/blog\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2016\/03\/Response-from-Dr-Hawkings.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mr Hawking in his response<\/a> had expressed regret over his inability to respond to the specific claims attributed to him in the Facebook post of 2011.<\/p>\n<p>That the page does not belong to Stephen Hawking but only has his name was confirmed by the admin of the page himself in a comment on the same post, which can be viewed below.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10324\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/03\/Selection_16_03_2018_007.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"819\" height=\"176\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/03\/Selection_16_03_2018_007.png 819w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/03\/Selection_16_03_2018_007-300x64.png 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/03\/Selection_16_03_2018_007-768x165.png 768w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/03\/Selection_16_03_2018_007-696x150.png 696w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 819px) 100vw, 819px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Einstein&#8217;s theory of relativity was transformative, completely altering the way humans look at astronomy and theoretical physics.
