The second tweet also talks about &#8216;Bernie Gores&#8217; but describes him as an &#8220;activist&#8221; who was the first American casualty of the Russia-Ukraine crisis. It is important to note that both the accounts posing as genuine CNN News accounts did not carry blue tick verification.<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-112570 gallery-columns-3 href=\"https:\/\/www.politifact.com\/factchecks\/2021\/aug\/17\/viral-image\/fake-news-accounts-spread-false-information-about-\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">debunked by Politifact<\/a> last year.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-112588 aligncenter\" 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 879px) 100vw, 879px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Similarly, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snopes.com\/fact-check\/fake-afghan-news-missing-reporter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fact-check<\/a> by Snopes has also debunked the claim and identified the man in the viral tweets to be YouTube personality <a href=\"https:\/\/youtube.fandom.com\/wiki\/Jordie_Jordan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jordie Jordan<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full \/><\/p>\n<p>Reuters had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/factcheck-journalist-kabul-idUSL1N2PP1W3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reached out to CNN last year<\/a> regarding the same tweets. Matt Dornic, head of strategic communications at CNN, told Reuters via email: \u201cThis is a fabricated story and a fake post.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hence, two fake tweets attributed to CNN were viral on social media amidst the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
