Alt News performed a reverse image search and came across a tweet by BSP leader Shirisha Swaero Akinapally from May 3. It contains a similar picture. However, this one features the BSP flag. \u201cOur brothers and sisters climbed the ladder and hoisted the blue flag in the hearts of the people. Following in the footsteps of Praveen Kumar, millions of such youth are working for the establishment of the Bahujan government in Telangana,\u201d wrote Akinapally. (<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/SQanj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Archive link<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>Quote-tweeting this post, BSP leader <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/b11Xt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr RS Praveen Kumar<\/a> stated that the image shows BSP Telangana at work. It was uploaded on May 7, 2019. Comparing it with the viral image demonstrates how the original image had been doctored.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"810\" height=\"456\" class=\"wp-image-119954 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2022\/06\/word-image-119947-4.jpeg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2022\/06\/word-image-119947-4.jpeg 810w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2022\/06\/word-image-119947-4-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2022\/06\/word-image-119947-4-768x432.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.boomlive.in\/fact-check\/politics\/viral-picture-bjp-flag-tamil-nadu-old-photo-morphed-image-social-media-18162\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Boomlive<\/a> found a 2019 Facebook post carrying the same image. One Rohitash Kumar uploaded it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-55717 size-large jetpack-lazy-image--handled aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/hindi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/IMG_20220611_111454-1.jpg?resize=463%2C1024&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"463\" height=\"1024\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" data-lazy-loaded=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Kumar told Boomlive that he had clicked this picture in Shahpur, Uttar Pradesh in 2017. He further said that the blue flag seen in the picture is of BSP and it is still present on the electric pole. Several BJP leaders and workers shared the photo as proof of the party\u2019s growing influence in Tamil Nadu.
