We found a tweet posted by Bhagwant Singh Rupal, a journalist from the Punjabi daily &#8216;Rozana Spokesman&#8217;. He wrote that the video does not feature Nupur Sharma but Bhumi Birmi, while tweeting a link to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/bhumi.birmi.9\/videos\/1228639677964950\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">original video<\/a> posted on Birmi&#8217;s Facebook profile on June 15.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">She Is Not Nupur Sharma.. Another Google search led us to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abplive.com\/states\/rajasthan\/churu-all-india-kisan-sabha-protest-farmers-jammed-highway-ann-2147642\">June 16 report by ABP News<\/a>. According to the article, farmers in Churu, Rajasthan were staging a dharna with a 20-point list of demands. Birmi also addressed the gathering at the dharna. On June 15, farmers held a fierce protest at the subdivision office of Churu&#8217;s Taranagar assembly constituency. Angry protesters also tried to break through the police barricades. According to ABP News, the women involved in the agitation were beaten by the female police officers with sticks.<\/p>\n<p>Alt News reached out to Bhumi Birmi, who confirmed that she was the woman in the viral video. She also verified that the video was taken during the June 15 demonstration at Taranagar, located in Rajasthan\u2019s Churu district.<\/p>\n<p>Scenes from the viral video appear in a video aired by \u2018First India News&#8217;.
