Taking cognizance of the words used in the video and the hint that the man is a resident of ‘Shah town’, we performed a keyword search in Urdu and came across several videos on Facebook related to the incident. Based on the caption it could be deduced that the viral clip was from Karachi, Pakistan.<\/p>\n

A Facebook page called ‘4 News Pakistan’ shared the clip on the platform on October 21. As per the captions, the accused, Mushtaq Ahmed, is the father of the victim. His daughter Nazish, who is married to Ehsan-ul-Haq, filed a police complaint narrating that she and her husband were staying in Mansehra Hazara, and her father asked them to move to Karachi promising that he would hire her husband in a private factory. Once they moved to Karachi, her father sent her husband to work and raped her. The accused was using a knife to force the victim.<\/p>\n

Another Facebook user who goes by the name Adil Tanha also shared the clip on October 21. The caption provides the same details as the first Facebook video. An additional piece of information this user provides is that the victim told the police that the accused had threatened to kill her if she told this to anyone. When she narrated the ordeal to her husband he tried to commit suicide by consuming rat poison. The husband was hospitalized. Once he recovered they decided to file a police complaint.<\/p>\n
