It has been claimed that the incident occurred in Kashmir when a group of youth began pelting stones at cars of tourists visiting the valley on vacation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=1zRWytgCDcI\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=1zRWytgCDcI<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The video has been widely shared on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/search\/videos\/?q=%22%E0%A4%9B%E0%A5%81%E0%A4%9F%E0%A5%8D%E0%A4%9F%E0%A4%BF%E0%A4%AF%E0%A5%8B%E0%A4%82%20%E0%A4%AE%E0%A5%87%E0%A4%82%20%E0%A4%95%E0%A4%B6%E0%A5%8D%E0%A4%AE%E0%A5%80%E0%A4%B0%22&amp;ref=eyJzaWQiOiIiLCJyZWYiOiJ0b3BfZmlsdGVyIn0%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> by both individual users and pages. We broke up the video into individual frames with InVid software for videos, and reverse searched the image via Google. A video demonstration of the fact-check can be seen below. We found that the incident in question had occurred at Birsstrasse in Basel, Switzerland on May 19, 2018 after supporters of the Basel and Lucerne football clubs came to blows.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Viral video claims Muslims are rioting in UK during Ramzan. Alt News fact-checks the claim.\" width=\"1290\" height=\"726\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/y8MCfW81wik?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Two of the Facebook pages &#8211;<em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/DhongiAamAadmiParty\/videos\/468743970239600\/\">Dongi AAP<\/a> <\/em>and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/306245966548796\/videos\/387541805085878\/\">Jammu Mission<\/a> <\/em>&#8211; that have circulated the video have a combined membership of nearly 2 lakh people and more than 5,000 individuals have shared the video only from these two pages.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Same video, different contexts<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The video was earlier shared on social media with different claims. One version states that the incident had occurred in Birmingham, U.K when members of the Muslim community resorted to vandalism as they wanted to \u2018eat on the roads\u2019, in a reference to the practice of breaking fast during Ramadan.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Violence in Birmingham during Ramazaan!!!<br \/>\nThey want to close the road to eat on the roads&#8230;.<br \/>\nTotal Nonsense&#8230;<br \/>\nThis is not in some district of UP, but in United Kingdom, UK, London. A suburb in UK, Birmingham, where the muslim community is slowly becoming majority.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Birmingham?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Birmingham<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/UVEBDRpljY\">pic.twitter.com\/UVEBDRpljY<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 \ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf3Sandeep Singh\ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf3 (@sandeepfromvns) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sandeepfromvns\/status\/1003547054998605824?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 4, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>According to another version, this video has been shared by a YouTube channel\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCuLngsOqSROlADO0wKU5Mpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RedeBrasil.NET<\/a>\u00a0with the claim that this vandalism <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?time_continue=2&amp;v=jTEwTsgoRLM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">took place in Brazil<\/a>. It was also shared along with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/viral-message-images-that-led-to-lynching-in-southern-states-now-target-bihar-jharkhand-and-odisha\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">set of gruesome images<\/a> which falsely claimed that a gang of 15-20 people are on an abduction and killing spree in Jharkhand, Odisha and Bihar, attacking vehicles under the cover of darkness.<\/p>\n<p>Now, yet another context has been imagined for this video and shared widely with the objective of inciting suspicion and hatred among communities.\u00a0This not only points to a pattern in which fake news is floated on social media but also shows that how thousands are still in the dark about the origin of the video.
