Sharing a clip that showed a simulation of the IAF aircraft&#8217;s flight path, he wrote that there was no indication that it had sought to use Pak airspace.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Don&#8217;t agree with assessments suggesting Pakistan denying airspace to IAF relief flight to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Turkey?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Turkey<\/a>. There is no confirmation if IAF sought permission to use PAK airspc. The flight path also shows no indication of inclination to use Pak airspace <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/TurkeyEarthquake?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#TurkeyEarthquake<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Gc71UDPUQr\">pic.twitter.com\/Gc71UDPUQr<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ankiit Koomar (@AnkiitKoomar) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AnkiitKoomar\/status\/1622851778894000129?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 7, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Sidhant Sibal, diplomatic &amp; defence correspondent at WION, tweeted, \u201cOn reports of Indian C17 with relief to Turkiye not using Pakistan airspace, can point out that Indian military planes don&#8217;t use Pakistan airspace nor New Delhi seeks Islamabad&#8217;s permission to use its airspace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sibal added, \u201cEven during the evacuation of Indians from Afghanistan after the Taliban takeover in August 2021, Indian military planes flew from Kabul to Dushanbe &amp; used Iranian airspace to come back to India.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Even during the evacuation of Indians from Afghanistan after the Taliban takeover in August 2021, Indian military planes flew from Kabul to Dushanbe &amp; used Iranian airspace to come back to India.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Sidhant Sibal (@sidhant) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sidhant\/status\/1622886434020659200?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 7, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Alt News&#8217; sources at Indian Air Force said on the night of February 7, \u201cThe media reports are incorrect.\u201d They added, \u201cThe IAF aircraft to Turkey is following a standard routing for the Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) missions. These missions involve overflight clearances from countries that are en route to the destination. The clearances for this HADR mission were sought for the standard routing which the IAF operators fly on a regular basis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An overflight clearance is an authorizations from the civil aviation authorities of a country to overfly or use that country&#8217;s airspace.<\/p>\n<p>Alt News asked its source if any permission was sought from Pakistan. They said, \u201cNo permission was sought because Pakistan was not on the route. Thus, there is no question of Pakistan denying airspace to the IAF. It&#8217;s worth noting that the IAF did not use Pakistani airspace during the 2021 Afghanistan evacuations as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To sum it up, several media outlets reported that Pakistan had denied airspace to India&#8217;s C-17 plane carrying relief aid.
