image search. This took us to a tweet by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/theriotimes\/status\/1548772994331414529\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Rio Times<\/a> from July 2022. As per this tweet, the man in the video is Brazilian doctor\/anesthesiologist\u00a0 Giovanni Quintella Bezerra, who was caught on camera orally raping a woman during a C-section.<\/p>\n<p>The tweet also says that the doctor was later placed under arrest. This took us to a detailed report by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-11008785\/Brazilian-anaesthetist-investigated-raping-six-sedated-women-C-sections.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daily Mail<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As per this report, Giovanni Quintella Bezerra, 32, had qualified as an anaesthetist in April 2022, three months before his video went viral. It says that some of Bezerra&#8217;s colleagues grew suspicion of him after it was noticed that he sedated C-section patients so heavily that they were barely conscious. After this, during a surgery in which Bezerra was involved, nurses placed a mobile phone in a cabinet and recorded him. It was seen that as surgeons operated on the patient, Bezerra strategically positioned himself near the head of the patient and raped her. Because of a surgical curtain, the other doctors could not see him in the act.<\/p>\n<p>The report says that five other patients came forward after the incident was widely reported in the media. A local media outlet called &#8216;<a style=\"background-color: #ffffff\" href=\"https:\/\/g1.globo.com\/rj\/rio-de-janeiro\/noticia\/2022\/07\/12\/anestesista-preso-apos-estupro-e-reu-por-erro-de-diagnostico-paciente-ficou-em-coma-e-perdeu-dedao.ghtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Globo<\/a>&#8216; reported that the same doctor was previously accused of misdiagnosing a patient after which the patient was put in a 23-day coma.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-149155 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2023\/02\/2023-02-27-13_34_26-Anesthetist-arrested-after-rape-is-accused-of-diagnostic-error-patient-was-in-a.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"931\" height=\"540\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2023\/02\/2023-02-27-13_34_26-Anesthetist-arrested-after-rape-is-accused-of-diagnostic-error-patient-was-in-a.jpg 931w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2023\/02\/2023-02-27-13_34_26-Anesthetist-arrested-after-rape-is-accused-of-diagnostic-error-patient-was-in-a-300x174.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2023\/02\/2023-02-27-13_34_26-Anesthetist-arrested-after-rape-is-accused-of-diagnostic-error-patient-was-in-a-768x445.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 931px) 100vw, 931px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In November 2022, CNN Brasil <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnnbrasil.com.br\/nacional\/justica-nega-liberdade-a-anestesista-acusado-de-estuprar-paciente\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> that a bail request for Giovanni Quintella Bezerra was rejected by the local courts.
