His tweet was effusive in its admiration for PM Modi who Rijiju credited for placing great emphasis on sport in India and football in particular. The minister said that the <em>&#8220;Indian team is performing much better&#8221;<\/em> and that <em>&#8220;younger generations are showing more interest&#8221;<\/em>. However, the tweet has <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KirenRijiju\/status\/1013095424448782336?s=19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">now been deleted<\/a>, without explanation or clarification. The archived version of the tweet can be <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20180702070757\/https:\/\/twitter.com\/KirenRijiju\/status\/1013095424448782336\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accessed here<\/a>. What prompted the minister to delete it?<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The child in the video<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Who is the football whizz-kid in the video? Alt News tried to find out via Google reverse image search, and came across a <a href=\"https:\/\/imgur.com\/gallery\/OcceA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">video posted on<\/a><em> Imgur, <\/em>an online image sharing portal.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"imgur-embed-pub\" lang=\"en\" data-id=\"a\/OcceA\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/imgur.com\/a\/OcceA\">This brazilian kid juggling a soccer ball.<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script data-jetpack-boost=\"ignore\" async src=\"\/\/s.imgur.com\/min\/embed.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>This is the same video as that posted by Rijiju but according to the caption, this kid is from Brazil. Using relevant keywords on YouTube, we came across a number of videos of this child. His name is Marco Antonio. He is six years old and a prodigy at football, already designated as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/sport\/6394482\/marco-antonio-crohns-disease-next-neymar-instagram\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">next Neymar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"This is the next big football star | History of Football\" width=\"1290\" height=\"726\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/R6mXBZ6DZmk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Rijiju was called out on Twitter by social media users who pointed out that the child in the video is Brazilian and not from India.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-conversation=\"none\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Yes Sir, AFA soccer is concerned, our younger generation will be like Marco Antonio &#8211; this 6 year Brazilian soccer wonder kid soon. Praggnanandhaa is inspiring the world.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Neeraj (@Neeraj_2018) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Neeraj_2018\/status\/1013699434654388224?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 2, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Kiren Rijiju is right in stating that Indian football has performed significantly better in recent years. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fifa.com\/fifa-world-ranking\/associations\/association=ind\/men\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">India now ranks 97th<\/a> among the comity of football-playing nations, a meteoric jump from the <a href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/sports\/football\/india-slip-to-172-in-latest-fifa-rankings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">all time low of 173<\/a> in 2015.
