We checked the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nccm.ca\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">official website of National Council of Canadian Muslims<\/a> and found out that it was &#8220;an independent, non-partisan and non-profit organization, built from within the Canadian Muslim community&#8221;. There is no mention of any affiliation to the government of Canada. Therefore, the implicit claim that NCCM is linked with the Canadian government is not true.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-166941 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2023\/09\/Minimalist-Square-Photo-Instagram-Post-n-300x233.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"598\" height=\"465\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2023\/09\/Minimalist-Square-Photo-Instagram-Post-n-300x233.png 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2023\/09\/Minimalist-Square-Photo-Instagram-Post-n-1024x797.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2023\/09\/Minimalist-Square-Photo-Instagram-Post-n-768x597.png 768w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2023\/09\/Minimalist-Square-Photo-Instagram-Post-n.png 1045w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 598px) 100vw, 598px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Next, we performed a keyword search on Google with the terms &#8216;RSS ban in Canada&#8217;. We could not find any news update from a Canadian media outlet or any such announcement on any government website. We also checked the website of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.international.gc.ca\/global-affairs-affaires-mondiales\/home-accueil.aspx?lang=eng\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Global Affairs, Canada<\/a>, the department of the government of Canada that manages Canada&#8217;s diplomatic and consular relations. No mention of a ban on RSS could be found on it.<\/p>\n<p>We, however, found an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2023\/9\/19\/sikh-muslim-leaders-call-for-action-as-canada-probes-sikh-leaders-killing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Al Jazeera report<\/a> on a joint press conference by Stephen Brown and Mukhbir Singh. The reports states that &#8220;Sikh and Muslim leaders in Canada have called on the government to do more to prevent potential threats against their communities.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Thus, it is clear that the viral video shows the CEO of the National Council for Canadian Muslims making some demands. He is not linked to the Canadian government in any way.
