According to the description, the image had been clicked on July 13, 2016. The man seen in the image is Mohammad Imran Parray. Wani was shot on July 8, 2016, which set off a three-month-long deadly unrest in the valley. At least 92 people were reportedly killed and over 12,000 injured in clashes between protesters and security forces. Parray&#8217;s image was published by several news outlets at the time representative of the violence that took place.<\/p>\n<p>The New Indian Express <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newindianexpress.com\/nation\/2016\/Sep\/23\/multiple-surgeries-and-decisions-later-pellet-victims-stare-at-darker-future-1524084.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published<\/a> a report titled &#8220;Multiple surgeries and decisions later, pellet victims stare at darker future&#8221; on September 24, 2016, highlighting the aftermath of unabated use of pellet guns by law enforcement despite the Union ministry of home affairs saying pellet guns would be used in the \u201crarest of rare\u201d cases. The report contains Parray&#8217;s image.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-178515\" Independent<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/blogs\/the-interviews-blog\/we-can-reconsider-use-of-pellet-guns-kashmiris-still-in-national-mainstream-and-we-must-take-care-of-them\/?source=app&amp;frmapp=yes\"
