T<\/span>he description of this video says: &#8220;The Hindus of Karachi hosted Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif at Holi celebrations on March 15. The PM talked about his &#8216;strong commitment&#8217; to protect the rights of minorities&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<iframe style=\"width:100%; height:auto; aspect-ratio:16\/9;\" title=\"\u091c\u092c \u090f\u0915 Hindu Singer \u0928\u0947 Nawaz Sharif \u0915\u094b \u0938\u0941\u0928\u093e\u092f\u093e Gayatri Mantra |Viral video !!!\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AuWZXgd54G8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This shows that the viral claim is false. Shehbaz Sharif was sworn in as the <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/world\/pakistan\/pakistan-shehbaz-sharif-takes-oath-as-prime-minister\/articleshow\/108204837.cms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">newly elected Prime Minister of Pakistan<\/a> on March 4, 2024.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>To corroborate this, we ran another keyword search and came across a video interview of the singer, Narodha Malini, conducted by BBC News Hindi. The description of this video states: &#8220;Narodha Malini, who became famous by singing Gayatri Mantra in the presence of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during Holi celebrations in Pakistan, had a special conversation with BBC&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<iframe style=\"width:100%; height:auto; aspect-ratio:16\/9;\" title=\"Meet Narodha, Who sang Gayatri Mantra in Pakistan  (BBC Hindi)\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xhfoaEAUTEI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<p>We also checked the swearing-in ceremony of Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif and found that no such recital took place there.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\ud83d\udd34 LIVE - Oath-taking Ceremony Of PM Shahbaz Sharif LIVE - SAMAA TV\" width=\"1290\" height=\"726\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/328c5W2abPs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>To conclude, a video from 2017 of Pakistani singer Narodha Malini reciting the Gayatri Mantra at a Holi celebration in the presence of Nawaz Sharif is being falsely shared across social media with the claim that the Hindu prayer was recited at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif.<\/p>\n<p><em>Prantik Ali is an intern at Alt News.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A video is viral on social media which shows a woman reciting the Gayatri Mantra in the presence of the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif.
