The screenshot carries an alleged quote of Congress President Rahul Gandhi, according to which he has said that it is necessary to support Pakistan and that he will do the same, promising Rs.5000 crore loan to Pakistan without interest for the next 50 years!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23556\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/12\/rahul_pak_abp.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"380\" height=\"503\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/12\/rahul_pak_abp.jpg 380w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/12\/rahul_pak_abp-227x300.jpg 227w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/12\/rahul_pak_abp-317x420.jpg 317w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 380px) 100vw, 380px\" \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"seo_h1_tag\" class=\"_19s-\">The above was posted in a Facebook group <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/248215975647001?view=permalink&amp;id=672890283179566\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mission Modi 2019 \u092e\u0947\u0902 \u0905\u092a\u0928\u0947 100 \u092e\u093f\u0924\u094d\u0930\u094b\u0902 \u0915\u094b \u091c\u094b\u095c\u0947\u0902<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>on November 28. The group has a membership of over 500,000 and this particular post has been shared over 7000 times so far. These screenshots have also been posted by a large number of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/search\/str\/%E0%A4%85%E0%A4%97%E0%A4%B0%20%E0%A4%87%E0%A4%B8%E0%A4%95%E0%A5%87%20%E0%A4%AC%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%A6%20%E0%A4%AD%E0%A5%80%20%E0%A4%95%E0%A5%8B%E0%A4%88%20%E0%A4%B9%E0%A4%BF%E0%A4%82%E0%A4%A6%E0%A5%81%E0%A4%B8%E0%A5%8D%E0%A4%A4%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%A8%E0%A5%80%20%E0%A4%95%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%82%E0%A4%97%E0%A5%8D%E0%A4%B0%E0%A5%87%E0%A4%B8%20%E0%A4%95%E0%A5%87%20%E0%A4%B8%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%A5\/stories-keyword\/stories-live?ref=top_filter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">individual users<\/a> on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Viral: Fake quote of Rahul Gandhi using manipulated screenshot of ABP News\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/304115012?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"530\" height=\"426\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2><strong>NOT a screenshot of <em>ABP News<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The screenshot circulating on social media is fake. No such news has been flashed on the channel, as claimed. Alt News spoke to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/pankajjha_?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pankaj Jha<\/a>, editor at <em>ABP News<\/em> who confirmed, <em>&#8220;All of these screenshots are fake&#8221;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This tactic of using the background of <em>ABP News<\/em> has been used widely. In November, the channel tweeted, asking social media users to beware of fake news being spread in the name of the channel through manipulated images.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Urgent?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Urgent<\/a>: This is to notify that the attached media which is being circulated online has been doctored with our channel&#8217;s template. The information about Sh. Rahul Gandhi&#8217;s statements, which these images carry have not been reported by ABP &amp; have no relation with ABP News Network. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/qYU2sJXqsl\">pic.twitter.com\/qYU2sJXqsl<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 ABP News (@abpnewstv) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/abpnewstv\/status\/1061986417490849792?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 12, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Earlier, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra was targeted in the same manner, when a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/fake-quote-ascribed-to-sambit-patra-on-farmers-agitation-circulates-on-social-media\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> fake quote<\/a> during the farmers&#8217; agitation was attributed to him through a fake screenshot of <em>ABP News<\/em>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">No such Press Conference was ever held by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BJP4India?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@BJP4India<\/a><br \/>\nThis is a photoshopped,fake news propagated by a verified Twitter handle to further vested interests &amp; cause disharmony in the country<br \/>\nI sincerely request <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TwitterIndia?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@TwitterIndia<\/a> to take stringent action against the verified handle! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/tU0w2SCrpL\">https:\/\/t.co\/tU0w2SCrpL<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Sambit Patra (@sambitswaraj) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sambitswaraj\/status\/1047748894120169472?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 4, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><strong>Fake opinion polls in the name of <em>ABP News<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Fake quotes aside, the name of the channel has also been utilised to spread misinformation with regard to opinion polls and exit polls ahead of elections. Recently, <em>ABP News<\/em> had tweeted a clarification after a &#8216;survey&#8217; of the Chhattisgarh assembly election was attributed to <em>ABP News<\/em> and <em>C-Voter<\/em>, and shared on social media. Earlier in 2017, ahead of the Gujarat assembly election, a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/abpnewstv\/status\/925033488473923584\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fake opinion poll<\/a> ascribed to <em>ABP News<\/em> was circulated.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Beware of fake news on social media in the name of ABP News.
