It had also likely been shared on WhatsApp, as suggested by the number of unconnected Facebook accounts which shared the video with an identical narrative. The message seeks to paint India as a place where the minority community is attacked with impunity in the absence of law and order.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Old video from Guatemala viral as Hindu woman lynched in MP for attending church prayer meet\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/316518940?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"730\" height=\"504\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2><strong>VIDEO IS FROM GUATEMALA<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This particular video has been circulating on social media for the past few years. Alt News had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/right-wingers-pass-off-guatemalan-mob-lynching-video-one-marwadi-woman-burnt-alive-muslim-mob\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fact-checked<\/a> it in 2017 and had found that it is from Guatemala in South America. The woman seen in the video was accused of having murdered a cab driver along with two male accomplices. She was apprehended by the mob and lynched. Her accomplices meanwhile had managed to escape. The incident had been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.co.in\/search?q=guatemala+16+year+old+burnt+beaten\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">covered extensively<\/a> by the media when it had occurred in early 2015.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27790\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/02\/guatemala_googlg.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"696\" height=\"621\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/02\/guatemala_googlg.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/02\/guatemala_googlg-300x268.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>SHARED WITH INCENDIARY NARRATIVE<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Alt News found that this claim i.e. a Hindu girl was burnt alive in Madhya Pradesh after she had attended a Christian prayer meeting, has been floating on social media since <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=Hindu%20girl%20burnt%20alive%20in%20Madhya%20Pradesh&amp;src=typd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">at least December 2016<\/a>.
