A 24 second video is currently viral on social media with the caption \u201cSalim threatened the police\u201d. In the video, a man wearing a cap generally worn by Muslims threatens a policeman of getting him suspended in two hours, after which the policeman is seen responding by throwing the Muslim man out of the room. Many users and Hindu Right-wing users shared the video claiming it to be a real incident while targeting Muslims for their ‘mentality’.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alt News performed a reverse image search using frames taken from the viral video. We found the source video uploaded on a verified Instagram page named ‘Monty Deepak Sharma<\/a>‘ on March 17, 2025 with the caption ‘<\/span>Salim ki harkat<\/a>‘ (What Salim did). <\/span>(<\/span>Archived link<\/span><\/a>)<\/span><\/p>\n

We also clicked on a link provided on the Instagram profile of ‘Monty Deepak Sharma’, which led us to the user\u2019s YouTube channel<\/a>. It has more than 20 lakh subscribers. Through another link mentioned here, we found the associated Facebook page<\/a>. Here, the bio describes Monty as a video creator and artist.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Furthermore, during the investigation, we also came across a viral video posted on March 17, 2025 with the title “Police wale ko dhamki<\/a>‘ (Threatening a policeman). However, unlike the viral video, the YouTube video does not mention any other information.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alt News examined each of the social media pages of Monty Deepak Sharma, and we noticed the man seen in the viral footage acting in several other videos<\/a> as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

In this clip<\/a>, a disclaimer appears at the 0:11 mark and at the 4:55 mark, the actors state that this video was made for entertainment and this was only a fictional scenario.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

To sum up, Alt News investigation found that the viral video of the ‘Muslim man’ threatening to get a policeman suspended is not a real incident, but taken from a scripted video made for entertainment purposes.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
