After some time, a military chopper can also be seen.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 640px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-298853-1\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/video.twimg.com\/ext_tw_video\/1920816142890717184\/pu\/vid\/avc1\/674x1002\/k0BPjYaN5cCQJ-Fs.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/video.twimg.com\/ext_tw_video\/1920816142890717184\/pu\/vid\/avc1\/674x1002\/k0BPjYaN5cCQJ-Fs.mp4\">https:\/\/video.twimg.com\/ext_tw_video\/1920816142890717184\/pu\/vid\/avc1\/674x1002\/k0BPjYaN5cCQJ-Fs.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This clip is among a series of unverified visuals that have gone viral after India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting nine terror camps in Pakistan. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Shortly after, Pakistan retaliated with<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/news\/national\/heavy-shelling-by-pak-troops-along-loc-in-poonch-rajouri-as-india-carries-out-operation-sindoor\/article69546835.ece\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> heavy mortar shelling<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in forward villages along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch and Rajouri areas of Jammu and Kashmir. The LoC is an over 700-km de facto military border separating the two countries. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The strikes by the Indian forces came a fortnight after terrorists, with alleged links to Pakistan, killed 26 civilians in Pahalgam, Kashmir. As of May 13, a ceasefire is underway but the situation remains tense. Both sides have claimed they managed to inflict significant damage to the other.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In this context, the pilot&#8217;s video is being circulated by many Pakistan-based social media accounts to hint that Pakistan had an edge over India since their planes were being downed. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">X user <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ZafarShirazi7\/status\/1920816241045843980\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zafar Shirazi<\/a> shared the clip on May 9 and claimed that an Indian fighter jet had crashed. The caption says that it wasn&#8217;t clear whether the pilot ejected from the jet himself, or if Indian forces shot down the plane he was flying mistakenly, or if he was captured by Pakistan. At the time of writing this, the post had nearly 850,000 views. Another Pakistan-based handle<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Harisj828\/status\/1920851251719287056\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> @HarisJ828<\/a> also shared the video. This post had over 1.5 million views at the time this was written.\u00a0(Archived versions of these posts are <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/AGGBb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/7JQET\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.) The caption said: \u201cIndian Air Force fighter plane Jaguar crashes\u201d with the hashtag Ambala air base.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Building on this, we performed a keyword search that led us to several news articles from March 7, 2025, when an Indian Air Force Jaguar fighter jet crashed in Ambala.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ptcnews.tv\/news-in-punjabi\/indian-air-forces-jaguar-fighter-jet-aircraft-crashes-in-ambala-4406615\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">PTC News<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> reported that the fighter jet crashed near the Baladwala village, Morni, after taking off from Ambala air base for a training flight. It said that the pilot narrowly escaped the crash by ejecting himself from the plane with a parachute. News agency <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ptinews.com\/story\/national\/in-2-separate-incidents-jaguar-fighter-jet-crashes-an-32-aircraft-crash-lands\/2355996\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PTI, too, had reported<\/a> on the incident.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-298861\" src=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/05\/IAF-PTC.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"669\" height=\"583\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/05\/IAF-PTC.jpg 669w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/05\/IAF-PTC-300x261.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to a<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/city\/chandigarh\/iafs-jaguar-jet-crashes-in-panchkula-pilot-ejects-safely\/articleshow\/118793372.cms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Times of India<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> report, at around 3:30 PM on March 7, two Morni residents working near the area where the plane crashed heard a loud noise and saw smoke rising and rushed there. They found aircraft wreckage and the injured pilot. Villagers quickly gathered at the scene and offered the pilot water, which he declined.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Soon after, an Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter, along with IAF officials, police personnel, and fire tenders, arrived at the crash site. The report added that villagers commended the pilot for skillfully steering the aircraft away from residential areas, thus averting a potential disaster.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A post on the official X handle of the Indian Air Force (@IAF_MCC) from March 7 confirmed the chain of events. It said that the crash happened due to a system malfunction and that before ejecting safely from the aircraft, the pilot ensured that the jet was away from any habitation.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">A Jaguar aircraft of the IAF crashed at Ambala, during a routine training sortie today, after encountering system malfunction.
