In the video, the elderly man refers to the girl as his former daughter-in-law and claims they performed \u201chalala\u201d in accordance with Islam. &#8220;<\/span>Halala&#8221; is a controversial Islamic marriage practice, according to which, a divorced woman must marry or consummate with another man before remarrying her former husband.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The woman, who says she is 22 years old, later proclaims that after the &#8220;halala,&#8221; she doesn&#8217;t want to get back with her ex-husband and wants to instead continue living with her 60-year-old father-in-law. <\/span>Social media users sharing the video took a dig at the two and at the Muslim community, for such practices.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">X user Deepika Narayan Bharadwaj (<\/span><span class=\"r-18u37iz\">@DeepikaBhardwaj<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), who claims she is a men\u2019s rights activist and journalist, shared the video and remarked that the two individuals in the video kept repeating they were following the words of Allah. At the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/kgd6tX36Mzo?si=IDQprrjY-nZG9z6P&amp;t=6\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">00:06-minute mark<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> of the YouTube video, a disclaimer, which appears for barely a second, mentions that the video is made for entertainment purposes only.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-299298\" src=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/05\/Pasted-image.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1023\" height=\"718\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/05\/Pasted-image.png 1023w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/05\/Pasted-image-300x211.png 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/05\/Pasted-image-768x539.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1023px) 100vw, 1023px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">However, the viral video, clipped from this longer version, does not carry the disclaimer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">While going through the content posted by this channel, Alt News found several similar videos of relationships that are otherwise considered taboo.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In one such video, uploaded on May 5, a woman wearing <em>sindoor <\/em>(a vermilion powder used by many married Hindu women), claims that she married her father-in-law because they fell in love. In this video, the disclaimer appears <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/42b7Hh9mkrA?si=fOICEL5FZ063Vm92&amp;t=9\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">at the 00:09-minute mark.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[youtube https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=42b7Hh9mkrA?si=5qRcBObcNfxB_mCt&amp;start=7]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Another scripted video showed a crying woman, pointing at an elderly man and accusing him of doing wrong by her. Meanwhile, the man dressed in black, adorning a black tilak and beads, says that he \u201ctreated\u201d the woman to help her conceive. In this video, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/SgunwY-bWz0?si=GOQLiK26f14muWix&amp;t=4\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">at the 00:04-minute mark,<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> a similar disclaimer appears.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[youtube https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=SgunwY-bWz0?si=uXWcHa5CWBwTFpHp&amp;start=7]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Similarly, in another scripted video, a girl wearing sindoor allegedly married her uncle.
