An individual named Spreeha Roy Chowdhury posted the claim on a Facebook group called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/288907058221300\/permalink\/721872538258081\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8216;We Support Republic&#8217;<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-30350 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/03\/republic.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"709\" height=\"444\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/03\/republic.png 709w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/03\/republic-300x188.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 100vw, 709px\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Fake tweet<\/h2>\n<p>If one looks up the alleged\u00a0<em>TOI\u00a0<\/em>tweet on Twitter, no results are thrown up. However, there still remains a chance of the tweet being removed by the media organisation.<\/p>\n<p>To figure out the authenticity of the tweet, we checked it for any abnormalities. In the collage below, the tweet on the left is picked up from the official Twitter handle of\u00a0<em>Times of India.\u00a0<\/em>The tweet on the right is the one viral on social media. If you notice the sentence alignment and the placement of the\u00a0<em>TOI\u00a0<\/em>logo on the left tweet, they all fall in a straight line. Furthermore, as far as\u00a0<em>Flipkart\u00a0<\/em>is concerned, neither has the company put up any statement declaring the removal of Surf Excel from the site nor have any media organisation reported the same.<\/p>\n<p>Since HUL&#8217;s advertisement portraying Hindu-Muslim communal harmony, several people on social media called for boycotting the company&#8217;s products.
