He says, &#8220;<em>As a senior officer who has devoted decades to the service of this uniform, I say this with deep concern. The growing influence of saffron politics is corroding the core values of the Indian Army. Our strength has always been rooted in discipline, unity, and constitutional duty &#8211; not in religious polarisation. When ideology starts dictating loyalty, it fractures morale, fuels internal distrust, and weakens combat effectiveness. If this trend continues, we will not be defeated by an external enemy, but by the political poison spreading within our own ranks.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>X user <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Baba_Thoka\/status\/1981308819507728547\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@Baba_Thoka<\/a> posted the viral video on October 23, claiming that Ghai said they would resist attempts to make the army subservient to Hindutva. Since then, it has been viewed almost 40,000 times. Below the &#8216;R&#8217; of the logo, there was also some garbled, distorted text. The bottom-right corner also had the &#8216;REP&#8217; of Republic TV, and the name also appeared on the screen behind Lt. Gen Ghai while he spoke.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-306789 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/10\/Screenshot_20-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"612\" height=\"342\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/10\/Screenshot_20-1.jpg 612w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/10\/Screenshot_20-1-300x168.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We checked to see if Republic World had uploaded the speech on their social media handles, and came across the full video on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=NofJ31f4VXc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube<\/a>, which was livestreamed on October 18, under the banner &#8216;Forces First Conclave.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>[youtube https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=NofJ31f4VXc?si=OOT1KqLNLMuHL-gX]<\/p>\n<p>We went through the full video and saw that Lt. Gen Rajiv Ghai had spoken at length about Operation Sindoor, commending the military planning and execution by the Indian Army. However, we could not find the part that is now viral section. This led us to think it may have been generated using AI.<\/p>\n<p>On looking closely at the viral clip, we also noticed several inconsistencies in his lip movements as he began to speak, which was c clear sign that it was a deepfake.<\/p>\n<p>We also ran the viral clip through <a href=\"https:\/\/thehive.ai\/apis\/ai-generated-content-classification\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hive&#8217;s AI detection tool<\/a>. According to the platform, there was a 99.4% possibility of the clip being artificially generated.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-306791 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/10\/Screenshot_22.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1884\" height=\"850\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/10\/Screenshot_22.jpg 1884w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/10\/Screenshot_22-300x135.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/10\/Screenshot_22-1024x462.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/10\/Screenshot_22-768x346.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/10\/Screenshot_22-1536x693.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1884px) 100vw, 1884px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PIBFactCheck\/status\/1981356913398108320\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">clarified<\/a>, through an X post, that the AI generated<span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\"> video was being circulated to mislead people and create distrust against the Indian Armed Forces.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\ud83d\udea8 Deepfake Video Alert \ud83d\udea8<\/p>\n<p>Pakistani propaganda accounts are circulating a digitally altered video of Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai with false claims suggesting he said that politicization or saffronization of the Indian Armed Forces would damage the morale of the Army\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/NyOEz2E2af\">pic.twitter.com\/NyOEz2E2af<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 PIB Fact Check (@PIBFactCheck) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PIBFactCheck\/status\/1981356913398108320?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 23, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Based on these findings, we were able to conclude that the viral video, purportedly showing Lt. Gen Rajiv Ghai speaking about his concerns at the growing influence of &#8216;saffron politics&#8217; in the Indian Army, was generated using AI and is a deepfake.
