Two women linked to the Hindu Raksha Dal who spray-painted \u201c\u092e\u0941\u0938\u0932\u092e\u093e\u0928 \u0915\u0947 \u0932\u093f\u090f \u0930\u094b\u0921 \u0928\u0939\u0940\u0902 \u0939\u0948\u201d (\u201cThis road is not for Muslims\u201d) on the Delhi\u2013Dehradun highway were arrested on March 12 — almost a fortnight after the incident —\u00a0 along with a third person who was with them.<\/p>\n

After the arrest, Saharanpur SP Sagar Jain said<\/a>, “Police identified and arrested the three individuals involved in the case. A challan under BNSS Section 170 had been filed on March 12. All of the accused have been presented in court, and appropriate legal actions will be taken.”<\/p>\n

On March 9, Jain had told Alt News said that accused had been already identified, but there was some delay in proceedings because of Holi. \u201cTheir names are already in the public domain. One of them is Shraddha. A police team has travelled to Dehradun to verify their location and address. They will be arrested soon,\u201d Jain had said, adding that action was delayed due to Holi festivities, but arrests would be made shortly. \u201cNo notice will be served. We will proceed directly with arrests,\u201d the SP had stated.<\/p>\n

A case was registered 13 days ago at the Biharigarh police station in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, in this regard. Speaking to Alt News, the SHO of Biharigarh police station had identified the three accused in the case as Shraddha Singh, Sulekha and Jitendra Raghav.<\/p>\n
