We found the same photograph in an article by <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/news\/national\/kerala\/kunhalikutty-moves-on-to-national-stage\/article18083443.ece\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Hindu<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>published on April 17, 2017.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-37197\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/05\/wayanad_r2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"711\" height=\"703\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/05\/wayanad_r2.jpg 711w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/05\/wayanad_r2-300x297.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 711px) 100vw, 711px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to the report, the people seen in the photograph are workers of the Indian Union Muslim League, a political outfit based in Kerala. The workers were celebrating a bypoll victory. By-election had taken place on the Malappuram Lok Sabha seat on April 12, 2017 in which IUML leader P N Kunhalikutty had emerged victorious.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>IUML flag different from flag of Pakistan<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The IUML flag has often been passed off as the national flag of Pakistan. As recently as April 2019, IUML flags at Rahul Gandhi&#8217;s pre-nomination roadshow were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/no-pakistani-flags-were-not-waved-at-rahul-gandhis-pre-nomination-roadshow-in-wayanad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">falsely claimed<\/a> to be Pakistani flags.<\/p>\n<p>Both flags- IUML and Pakistan, are green in colour. The similarity however ends there.
