It has now been <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ShobhaBJP\/status\/1132649540484341768\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">deleted<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=shivu%20uppar&amp;src=typd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Several individual users<\/a> have shared this message on Twitter, that Shivu Uppar was hacked to death because he was protecting cows from cow smugglers, in effect giving a communal turn to the incident. The fake news website <a href=\"https:\/\/dainikbharat.xyz\/2019\/05\/shivu-uppar-belagavi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Dainik Bharat<\/em> <\/a>has also published an article stating that Uppar was killed by cow smugglers.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-37316\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/05\/belgaum2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"761\" height=\"547\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/05\/belgaum2.jpg 636w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/05\/belgaum2-300x216.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 761px) 100vw, 761px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Post-mortem report confirms suicide<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The claim that 19 year old Shivu Uppar was murdered by cow smugglers is false. This has been confirmed by Commissioner of Police, Belgaum. In a conversation with Alt News, B S Lokesh Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Belagavi (Belgaum) said, <i>&#8220;It is a case of suicide. <\/i><strong><i>We have received the post mortem report. It clearly says &#8216;suicide by hanging&#8221;<\/i><\/strong><i>. <\/i><i>Moreover there are no injury marks on the body of the deceased, according to the report<\/i><em>&#8220;<\/em><i>. <\/i>He added, <em>&#8220;The deceased had a quarrel with his family. The family members have given a complaint saying the boy committed suicide. Unnecessarily, people are spreading false news for which SP Belgavi has taken action.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Alt News also spoke to Sudheer Kumar Reddy, SP Belgaum, who confirmed that two persons have been arrested on the charge of spreading fake news that the youth was killed by cow smugglers.
