Incident of 2018<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Alt News found that the incident had taken place in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh in March 2018. According to news reports<\/a>, the woman seen in the video was beaten up by her husband for allegedly having eloped with another man, on the order of the village panchayat.<\/p>\n

The video had gone viral last year shortly after the incident had occurred, following which the husband of the woman had been arrested along with a former head of the panchayat.<\/p>\n
