On June 5, 2019, reports emerged<\/a> that clashes between security forces and protesters took place in some parts of Kashmir. Now, a set of images has been shared by a Facebook page, Indian Army<\/a><\/em>, with the claim that they represent the recent clashes. The caption posted along with the images reads, “\u0936\u094d\u0930\u0940\u0928\u0917\u0930 \u092e\u0947\u0902 \u0908\u0926 \u0915\u0940 \u0928\u092e\u093e\u091c \u0915\u0947 \u092c\u093e\u0926 \u0938\u0947\u0928\u093e \u092a\u0930 \u092a\u0924\u094d\u0925\u0930 \u092c\u093e\u091c\u0940 \u091c\u093e\u0930\u0940, \u0915\u094d\u092f\u093e \u0907\u0928\u0915\u094b \u0926\u0947\u0916\u0924\u0947 \u0939\u0940 \u0920\u094b\u0915 \u0926\u0947\u0928\u093e \u091a\u093e\u0939\u093f\u092f\u0947,??? A few more pages and other individuals on Facebook<\/a> shared the images with the same narrative.<\/p>\n

Fact-check<\/h2>\n

By reverse searching individual images on Google, Alt News found that they are relatively old but do pertain to stone-pelting incidents in the Kashmir Valley. It may be reiterated here that clashes had erupted between security forces and protesters on June 5, 2019, and were indeed reported<\/a> but\u00a0these images are unrelated to the incident.<\/p>\n

This image was found on Reuters<\/em> and was shot<\/a> by a photographer named Danish Ismail on January 15, 2016, during a protest in Srinagar. Greater Kashmir<\/em><\/a> reported that the clashes took place between youth and security forces after the congregational Friday prayer at the historic Jamia Masjid at Nowhatta, Srinagar.<\/p>\n
