Alt News found that this claim goes back to 2016, when a video making the same claim was uploaded on YouTube.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"GIANT Weather Modification Cloud Machine From NASA BBC News\" width=\"1290\" height=\"726\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/G-z1dKIGxsQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2><strong>NO SUCH MACHINE DEVELOPED BY NASA<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The claim that NASA has developed a &#8216;cloud generating machine&#8217; is outrightly false. Moreover, the video shared along with this false assertion represents the testing of a rocket by the space agency. It is an extract from a video report by <em>BBC<\/em> on its programme <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BIpeNs5OWbo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Top Gear<\/em><\/a>, in 2010. The video is posted below. The footage can be viewed from 1:46 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Space Shuttle Rocket Booster Test | Speed | Top Gear\" width=\"1290\" height=\"726\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BIpeNs5OWbo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>NASA had uploaded a video on YouTube which showed the testing of<a href=\"https:\/\/images.nasa.gov\/details-SSC_2017-12-13%20-%20RS-25%20Engine%20Test.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> RS-25 rocket engine<\/a>, in 2017.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"NASA Conducts Final RS-25 Rocket Engine Test of 2017\" width=\"1290\" height=\"726\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_8xoyNfxJeI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>An article written by a former research meteorologist at NASA, and published by<a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/marshallshepherd\/2018\/04\/09\/there-is-no-nasa-cloud-machine-the-real-explanation-of-that-viral-video\/#524c6b2713c7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em> Forbes<\/em><\/a> in April 2018, has given a detailed scientific explanation of the vapour formed by the testing of the rocket.<\/p>\n<p>It states, <em>&#8220;The exhaust from the RS-25 is primarily water vapor because the engine burns liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen. Oh&#8230;..guess what happens when they combine: You get H2O (also known as water). Therefore, the &#8220;clouds&#8221; that you see in the pictures or videos are a by-product of a very simple scientific process (see below). If the water vapor condenses, it actually may form drops large enough to fall as liquid or what appears as &#8220;rain.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-39593\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/06\/nasa1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"623\" height=\"588\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/06\/nasa1.jpg 623w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/06\/nasa1-300x283.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/06\/nasa1-550x520.jpg 550w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 623px) 100vw, 623px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Insofar as creation of artificial clouds by NASA is concerned, it may be noted that the agency had conducted an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/feature\/wallops\/2017\/nasa-sounding-rocket-will-release-early-morning-artificial-clouds0lighting-up-the-mid-atlantic-coast-may-31\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">experiment<\/a> in 2017 to create these clouds by launching a short-range rocket.
