Alt News searched the Rajya Sabha website for questions asked by members on the floor of the House. Congress leader and MP Digvijaya Singh had inquired about the impact of demonetisation on the Indian economy, MSMEs and employment, to which the Finance Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/164.100.158.235\/question\/annex\/249\/Au1147.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">replied<\/a> that no specific study has been conducted in this regard.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-40120\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/07\/demo4-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"675\" height=\"617\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/07\/demo4-1.jpg 675w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/07\/demo4-1-300x274.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/07\/demo4-1-459x420.jpg 459w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 675px) 100vw, 675px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In fact, the Finance Minister herself tweeted a clarification in response to a tweet by <em>NDTV<\/em> quoting Ms. Sitharaman.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Where did this heading come from? Not certainly from my answer in the Rajya Sabha. Your story, based on my answer, also, does not have this line. Please watch my answer in the RS or read your copy(sourced from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PTI_News?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@PTI_News<\/a>?) itself.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Nirmala Sitharaman (@nsitharaman) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nsitharaman\/status\/1146111587536605184?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 2, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In response, <em>NDTV<\/em> stated that the headline of the article was sourced from the <a href=\"https:\/\/mobile.twitter.com\/PTI_News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Press Trust of India<\/em><\/a> (<em>PTI<\/em>). It further added that the article had been updated accordingly, and the news agency had been intimated regarding the same.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Respected Ma\u2019am, this was <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PTI_News?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@PTI_News<\/a> headline, which we immediately changed after you brought this to our notice. Have raised your concerns with PTI so they can make corrections as their headline and story are being used by many other sites. We regret any inconvenience caused.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 NDTV News feed (@ndtvfeed) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ndtvfeed\/status\/1146254520646852609?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 3, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>On the basis of this erroneous report, the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/INCIndia\/status\/1146328667368431616\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Congress party<\/a> took potshots at Ms. Sitharaman via a tweet.<\/p>\n<p>Alt News could not find any<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/rajyasabhatv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> speech<\/a> made by the Finance Minister in the Rajya Sabha in the ongoing monsoon session.
