The graphic started circulating on social media after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.news18.com\/news\/india\/jammu-and-kashmir-live-updates-eid-ul-adha-bakrid-curfew-article-370-narendra-modi-2266947.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reports<\/a> of re-imposition of curfew in Srinagar on the eve of Eid.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Indian government imposed ban in Kashmir that kashmiris are not allowed to slaughter animals on eid ul azha. She said, <em>&#8220;This is a fake screen. FALSE. Photoshopped&#8221;.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">This is a fake screen. FALSE . Photoshopped<br \/>\n1. The bottom ticker is missing<br \/>\n2. The font is not the one used by the channel<br \/>\n3. This is not a story carried by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MirrorNow?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@MirrorNow<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Ugoz7lAQHo\">pic.twitter.com\/Ugoz7lAQHo<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Faye DSouza (@fayedsouza) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/fayedsouza\/status\/1160601894714105857?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 11, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>She pointed out the discrepancies in the morphed screengrab by referring to the actual composition of the screen and the fonts used by the broadcaster. D&#8217;souza asserted that the news channel has not carried such a story. Moreover, we also found that Pramod Madhav, the reporter whose name is mentioned in the second viral screengrab, is reporting on Kerala floods right now and is NOT in Kashmir.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/TheBigStory?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#TheBigStory<\/a> &#8212; The death toll has risen to 76 in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Kerala?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Kerala<\/a>. While the text in the screengrab reads, <em>&#8220;No one can slaughter animal now&#8221;<\/em>, it should have said, <em>&#8220;animals&#8221;<\/em> and not <em>&#8220;animal&#8221;<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Shehla Rashid, a political activist and general secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement had posted the fake graphic on Twitter and later clarified that these were photoshopped.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Warning: There are photoshopped images of a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MirrorNow?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@MirrorNow<\/a> screen being circulated with the caption that animal slaughter has been banned in Kashmir. I checked with Mirror Now. They deny having run the story.
