A video of a couple who were stripped, thrashed and paraded around naked is being currently circulated as a video of caste violence in Gujarat. This same video is also being circulated as a video of caste violence in Uttar Pradesh. In reality, the video is neither from Gujarat or Uttar Pradesh. Other than various social media accounts<\/a>, a website called Skeptic Indians<\/a> also spread this fake video. A Tamil website<\/a>, tamilarasial.com, also spread the rumour that it was caste based violence.<\/p>\n

As reported by Hindustan times<\/a>, the incident took place in Shambhupura village in Banswara district of Rajasthan in April 2017. After a Khap like diktat was issue, Kachru (20) and his cousin with whom he was allegedly in a relationship were thrashed and paraded naked inside the village.
