It contained a video of the same incident, taken from a different angle, which confirmed that the report pertained to the same incident. The date on the top right corner of the still on the right reads April 8, 2017.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-45820\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/09\/car1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"651\" height=\"534\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/09\/car1.jpg 651w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/09\/car1-300x246.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 651px) 100vw, 651px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>MOBILE PHONE NOT THE CAUSE OF EXPLOSION<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The cause of the explosion is not mobile phone usage in the petrol pump premises, as claimed in the message. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/news\/3295576\/shocking-moment-car-explodes-at-petrol-station-while-being-filled-up-with-fuel-killing-one-woman-and-injuring-three\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>The Sun<\/em><\/a>&#8216;s report states, <em>&#8220;According to Rio fire department, the car was being filled up with natural gas when it appears a build-up of pressure inside the gas cylinder caused the car to explode.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em>The American fact-checking website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snopes.com\/fact-check\/cell-phone-explosion-gas-station\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Snopes<\/em><\/a> too had fact-checked this false claim in 2018, confirming that pressure build-up in the natural gas cylinder of the vehicle was responsible for the explosion.<\/p>\n<p>It may be reiterated that the claim circulated along with the video is false.
