The same explosion is then shown from another angle, followed by a raging inferno which engulfs the area. Several <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/search\/videos\/?q=aramco%20blast&amp;epa=SERP_TAB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook<\/a> users have uploaded the video with the claim that this video shows the recent attack on the Aramco refinery in Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-46513\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/09\/blast1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"469\" height=\"564\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/09\/blast1.jpg 469w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/09\/blast1-249x300.jpg 249w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 469px) 100vw, 469px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The video has also been shared on Twitter.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"cs\">Aramco Refinery Blast <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/b0EZTT0fMY\">pic.twitter.com\/b0EZTT0fMY<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Kamlesh Mistry (@SumangalPrint) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SumangalPrint\/status\/1173871371266359301?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 17, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><strong>FACT CHECK<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The claim that this video represents the recent drone attack on the Aramco refinery in Saudi Arabia, is false. Using a frame from the video clip, Alt News performed a reverse-image search on Google. The result threw up a YouTube video showing the same incident. The video was uploaded in August, 2014 and is titled, <em>&#8216;2012 Gas plant explosion Mexico&#8217;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"2012 Gas plant explosion Mexico\" width=\"1290\" height=\"726\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UdEqC5oMdrI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>On the basis of this information, Alt News searched Google and found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=2012+mexico+gas+plant+explosion&amp;rlz=1C1CHBF_enIN773IN773&amp;oq=2012+mexico+gas+pla&amp;aqs=chrome.0.0j69i57j69i61.7223j0j7&amp;sourceid=chrome&amp;ie=UTF-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">several news reports<\/a> from 2012, which had reported the incident. An explosion had rocked a natural gas plant of the Mexican state-owned petroleum company Pemex in September 2012, near the city of Reynosa in Northern Mexico, close to the U.S border. Over 25 people were killed in the explosion and the ensuing blaze.
