It was found that no MLA by that name exists in either BJP or Congress.<\/p>\n<p>After searching through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?newwindow=1&amp;client=ubuntu&amp;hs=fJq&amp;channel=fs&amp;ei=st6NXdHJOsSA9QOJ2qnwAw&amp;q=anil+upadhyay+site%3Amyneta.info&amp;oq=anil+upadhyay+site%3Amyneta.info&amp;gs_l=psy-ab.3...23127.23723..24254...0.0..0.175.607.0j4......0....1..gws-wiz.LcOk3_xH-hk&amp;ved=0ahUKEwjR6via4PDkAhVEQH0KHQltCj4Q4dUDCAs&amp;uact=5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MyNeta<\/a> database, Alt News found two persons by the same name \u2013 Dr Anil Upadhyay, a BSP leader from Jodhpur who contested the Rajasthan polls in 2018, and Anil Kumar Upadhyay, an independent candidate from Lucknow who contested the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections in 2007 and 2012.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Video of BJP corporator from UP<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Furthermore, the man in the video is a BJP corporator from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. He was beating up a sub-inspector with the Uttar Pradesh police. Posted below is the video report by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2d4xJRmnC1g\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hindustan Times<\/a> published on 20 October 2018.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Watch: BJP corporator thrash Sub Inspector, intimidate lady lawyer in Uttar Pradesh\" width=\"1290\" height=\"726\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2d4xJRmnC1g?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAn argument allegedly broke out between the police officer and the staff of a restaurant run by BJP leader Manish Panwar over a delay in order. The BJP leader has been arrested and the police officer removed from active duty.\u201d, reported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hindustantimes.com\/india-news\/bjp-leader-in-meerut-beats-up-police-officer-in-restaurant-arrested\/story-gh56CUAtOWq3auuULnX0rL.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hindustan Times<\/a>. Reports later <a href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/cities\/lucknow\/meerut-restaurant-case-fir-against-cop-woman-lawyer-5426499\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">emerged<\/a> that Meerut police had also filed a first information report against the sub-inspector Sukhpal Panwar and a woman lawyer in the restaurant assault case.<\/p>\n<p>It may be reiterated that there is no MLA by the name of Anil Upadhyay in either BJP or Congress.
