With the use of relevant keywords, Alt News found the video <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=YA2nflr088c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">posted on YouTube<\/a> in July 2015 by the official channel of <em>The Daily Star<\/em>, an English newspaper in Bangladesh.<\/p>\n<p>The video was titled &#8216;Killing deer&#8217;, and the accompanying information states, <em>&#8220;This video shows a man shooting a deer in close range in an enclosed farm. As he does this with a cool head, someone else films the incident, including the slaughtering of the bullet-injured deer. Later, the group poses for their \u201cheroic accomplishment\u201d with the slaughtered animal lying in front of them. And they are heard cheering for what they term \u201clegal shooting\u201d. The video has been collected from the Facebook page of Moin Uddin&#8221;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Alt News also found an article by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailystar.net\/frontpage\/who-the-beast-111106\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>The Daily Star<\/em><\/a>, published on July 12, 2015.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-50115\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/11\/deer2.jpg?resize=810%2C528\" alt=\"\" width=\"713\" height=\"465\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/11\/deer2.jpg 920w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/11\/deer2-300x196.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/11\/deer2-768x501.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/11\/deer2-130x86.jpg 130w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 713px) 100vw, 713px\" \/>According to the report, the shooting took place at a farm in Chittagong owned by the shooter, identified as Moin Uddin. Moin Uddin himself had uploaded the video on Facebook on July 4, 2015, following which there was an uproar, with the authorities raiding the farm where the shooting took place. After the incident, Moin Uddin sought to defend himself via a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/moin.uddin.125\/posts\/1032885623420942?pnref=story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It is important to note that Alt News has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/?s=Anil+Upadhyay\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">debunked multiple claims<\/a> in the past that were viral in the name of a fictional MLA Anil Upadhyay.<\/p>\n<p>To sum it up, a video from Bangladesh shot and uploaded in 2015, has been shared on social media with the false narrative that it depicts a BJP MLA Anil Upadhyay, killing a deer.
