What else a \u2018revolutionary\u2019 want?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The above claim has been tweeted along with a photograph by a user <em>@chathootti<\/em>. The message says, <em>&#8220;He is 47 year old Moinuddin from Kerala JNU student since 1989.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">He is 47 year old Moinuddin from Kerala JNU student since 1989. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XerRV7YOGs\">https:\/\/t.co\/XerRV7YOGs<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Great Sardar (@hindumax) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hindumax\/status\/1196617088359526400?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 19, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The above tweet has been retweeted over 5300 times and &#8216;liked&#8217; over 8500 times. The person in the image is indeed a student of JNU, but his name is not Moinuddin but Pankaj Mishra.<\/p>\n<p>Alt News contacted Pankaj Mishra who confirmed that the person in the photograph is him. He said, <em>&#8220;My name is Pankaj Mishra and I am from Allahabad. I did my masters from Tata Institute of Social Sciences in 2016. After that I worked on public health in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. I am currently researching on public health in JNU. I enrolled in 2019. This is a recent photograph.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em>Mishra told us his age is 30 years and not 47 years, and that the photograph was taken when <em>Zee News<\/em> reporters had visited JNU, and that <em>Zee News<\/em> had broadcast reports targeting JNU students, following which the students had then protested.<\/p>\n<p>We found the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/pankajkumar1927\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter account<\/a> of Pankaj Mishra, wherein his picture matches with the viral photograph.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-51453\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/11\/baldy2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"901\" height=\"705\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/11\/baldy2.jpg 901w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/11\/baldy2-300x235.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/11\/baldy2-768x601.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 901px) 100vw, 901px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ever since the protest by JNU students, several instances of misinformation targeting the university have been shared on social media. In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/random-images-of-young-women-picked-off-the-internet-circulated-to-discredit-jnu-students-protest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">another instance<\/a>, random images of young women picked up from the internt have been shared with the false claim that they are students of JNU.
