The tweet suggested that J&amp;K won&#8217;t be a part of India if Article 370 ceases to exist. This is the closet quote we found compared to PM Modi&#8217;s statement. However, there is no mention of an &#8216;earthquake&#8217; which appears only in the satirical article.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Mark my words &amp; save this tweet &#8211; long after Modi Govt is a distant memory either J&amp;K won&#8217;t be part of India or Art 370 will still exist 2\/n<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Omar Abdullah (@OmarAbdullah) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OmarAbdullah\/status\/471279655450726400?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 27, 2014<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A quick Google search throws up no news reports where Abdullah has been quoted making the statement quoted by PM Modi. Furthermore, an advanced search on Twitter in both <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=omar%20OR%20abdullah%20kashmir%20370%20earthquake%20OR%20earthquakes%20OR%20%22earth%20quake%22%20OR%20%22earth%20quakes%22%20until%3A2020-2-5%20&amp;src=typed_query&amp;f=live\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">English<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%E0%A4%AD%E0%A5%82%E0%A4%95%E0%A4%82%E0%A4%AA%20%E0%A4%89%E0%A4%AE%E0%A4%B0%20%E0%A4%85%E0%A4%AC%E0%A5%8D%E0%A4%A6%E0%A5%81%E0%A4%B2%E0%A5%8D%E0%A4%B2%E0%A4%BE%20%E0%A4%95%E0%A4%B6%E0%A5%8D%E0%A4%AE%E0%A5%80%E0%A4%B0%20370%20until%3A2020-2-6&amp;src=typed_query&amp;f=live\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hindi<\/a> using keywords from the PM&#8217;s claim throws up references exclusively to the <em>Faking News&#8217;<\/em> article and nothing else. It is unclear why and how the prime minister quoted a six-year-old satirical piece as genuine news in the Parliament.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with Alt News, national spokesperson of National Conference (NC) Imran Nabi said, <em>&#8220;I don&#8217;t think he [Omar Abdullah] has ever made this statement. It seems that this has been picked up from the satirical website Faking News. The last tweet which was made by him spoke about keeping calm.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The last tweet that went out from Abdullah&#8217;s account has been embedded below. It was shared on August 4, 2019.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Violence will only play in to the hands of those who do not have the best interests of the state in mind. This wasn\u2019t the India J&amp;K acceded to but I\u2019m not quite ready to give up hope yet. Let calm heads prevail.
