This image was watermarked &#8216;Sofi Ahsan.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-60624 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/03\/Screenshot-2020-03-09-at-7.31.36-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"415\" height=\"657\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/03\/Screenshot-2020-03-09-at-7.31.36-PM.png 415w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/03\/Screenshot-2020-03-09-at-7.31.36-PM-189x300.png 189w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 415px) 100vw, 415px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Alt News looked-up Sofi Ahsan on Google and found that a journalist by the same name works for <a href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/profile\/author\/sofi-ahsan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>The Indian Express<\/em><\/a>. We reached out to him on Twitter and found that the viral image was clicked by him. Ashan said, <span data-offset-key=\"1fdir-0-0\">&#8220;The viral image is not from Delhi. I clicked the picture in Eidgah, Srinagar on October 6, 2014. It was the day of <span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-1qd0xha r-ad9z0x r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">Eid ul Adha<\/span>.<span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-1qd0xha r-ad9z0x r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\"> Eidgah area usually witnesses anti-India protests after Eid ul Adha prayers. I saw him [the man seen kicked] return after attending the prayer. I cannot comment on if he was a protestor or why he was attacked.&#8221;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ahsan emailed the viral photo and other photos he clicked that day. The viral image was on clicked 11:05 AM.
