The managing director of the cooperative body Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) RS Sodhi took to Twitter and informed that the notice is fake. Amul is managed by GCMMF.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;None of our milk chilling centre or procurement activities are going to close down. Rather we are procuring more,&#8221; wrote Sodhi.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">It seems somebody spreading this news which is fake and none of our milk chilling centre or procurement activities are going to close down , Rather we are procuring more .<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/atul1chaturvedi?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@atul1chaturvedi<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/girirajsinghbjp?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@girirajsinghbjp<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Glgl8rxfDj\">pic.twitter.com\/Glgl8rxfDj<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 R S Sodhi (@Rssamul) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Rssamul\/status\/1240316185205288962?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 18, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.financialexpress.com\/industry\/milk-supply-wont-be-disrupted-amul\/1902863\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Financial Express\u00a0<\/em>article<\/a> quotes Sodhi saying that milk supply will not be disrupted due to the spread of COVID-19. &#8220;According to Sodhi there has been sizable shift of demand for milk from retail outlets to e-commerce platforms and Amul kiosk because of coronavirus scare,&#8221; reads the report.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zeebiz.com\/companies\/news-amul-has-increased-its-production-to-meet-the-increased-target-it-will-not-hike-its-prices-rs-sodhi-122262\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zee News<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>he also said that people are indulging in panic buys and hoarding of supplies in cities such as Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore due to which the sales of milk power, ghee, butter, etc has shot up. However, &#8220;this is not creating any problem related to supply at our end as we keep an inventory of 15-20 days in advance. This has helped us in increasing our production.
