A few seconds later, we see a group of people watching as bystanders. Subsequently, one of the shooters flees while the other takes a civilian a hostage. Four men enter the premises and shot down the gunman. No civilian was injured. After this another scenario is shown where a suicide bomber blows himself up and a gunman takes civilians as hostages. Men dressed in military gear enter and take down the gunman. The camera shows a civilian who appears to be injured and close up of a dislocated leg. The video ends with <em>Channel News Asia&#8217;s<\/em> logo.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Coronavirua: Video of masked men open firing viral as China\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/399425185?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"400\" height=\"224\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h4>Fact-check<\/h4>\n<p>On March 21, Alt News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/results?search_query=airport+terror+drill+channel+news+asia\">debunked<\/a> a clip of hostage-taking scenario at Blaise Diagne Airport in Dakar, Senegal which was viral on social media with a similar claim. Keeping this in mind and the fact that the video ended with the logo of Channel Asia News, we performed a keyword search on YouTube and found the viral video.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-61583 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/03\/Screenshot-2020-03-21-at-6.30.45-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"919\" height=\"267\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/03\/Screenshot-2020-03-21-at-6.30.45-PM.png 919w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/03\/Screenshot-2020-03-21-at-6.30.45-PM-300x87.png 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/03\/Screenshot-2020-03-21-at-6.30.45-PM-768x223.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 919px) 100vw, 919px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It was uploaded by <em>Channel News Asia<\/em> on October 17, 2019. The context of the viral video is in the description. The video shows a counterterrorism exercise conducted at Singapore&#8217;s Changi Airport, Terminal 3.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Exercise Northstar at Singapore&#039;s Changi Airport\" width=\"1290\" height=\"726\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kL3r0d9dSw8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Therefore, the social media claim associated with the viral video is false and misleading. The video is not from China nor it is related to coronavirus.
