Man Arguing with cops and later abusing them bcoz of Friday prayers in Kurla Mumbai.. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/N5rOJA878J\">pic.twitter.com\/N5rOJA878J<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Yana Mir \u06cc\u0627\u0646\u0627 \u0645\u06cc\u0631 (@MirYanaSY) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MirYanaSY\/status\/1256310122923597830?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 1, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A Facebook user Kanchan Gaikwad wrote, &#8220;Kurla for friday namaz.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fb-video\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/kanchan.gaikwad.503\/videos\/3026841797372204\/\" data-show-text=\"true\" data-width=\"\">\n<blockquote class=\"fb-xfbml-parse-ignore\" cite=\"https:\/\/developers.facebook.com\/kanchan.gaikwad.503\/videos\/3026841797372204\/\"><p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Kurla for friday namaz Niket Aggarwal<\/p>\n<p>Posted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/kanchan.gaikwad.503\">Kanchan Gaikwad<\/a> on Friday, 1 May 2020<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<h4>FACT-CHECK<\/h4>\n<p>Alt News reached out to Mumbai police and was sent a press release dated May 2, 2020. According to the press release, the incident occurred on Wednesday, April 29. This debunks the first part of the claim that &#8220;Friday prayers&#8221; led to the scuffle.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-65703 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/05\/image-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"648\" height=\"1152\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/05\/image-1.png 648w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/05\/image-1-169x300.png 169w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/05\/image-1-576x1024.png 576w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 648px) 100vw, 648px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The press release says that sub-inspector Kakasaheb Nagwe and his team was patrolling in Kurla Pipe Road when Rizwan Zuber Memon alias Rizwan Tunda began abusing them from the second floor of a building. He asked the cops to not shut down shops in the locality. Rizwan claimed that he works with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and threatened the policemen of getting them fired from their jobs. A crowd gathered due to the commotion and Rizwan fled the scene. An FIR was filed against him under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Disaster Management Act and Maharashtra COVID-19 Prevention Measures. Therefore, the second claim that the altercation was between worshippers exiting a mosque and the police is also false. This was also pointed out by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/adil14384\/status\/1256301135603748866\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter user @adil14384<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aninews.in\/news\/national\/general-news\/1-person-booked-for-assaulting-police-team-in-mumbais-kurla20200502151715\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ANI<\/a>, <\/em>the police is yet to arrest the accused.\u00a0<em>PTI <\/em>also covered the incident.
