A claim subsequently viral on social media suggests that the AYUSH Ministry has certified Coronil and said that the drug adheres to all rules and regulations.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Hindu Army Chief&#8217; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/story.php?story_fbid=151230859825043&amp;id=101724988108964\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Manish Singh Yadav<\/a> posted the claim on Facebook. The subject line of the email reads, &#8220;News item related to &#8220;Shwashari Vati&#8221; &amp; &#8220;Coronyl&#8221; for COVID 19 being publicized by Patanjali Yogapeetha, Haridwar &#8211; reg.&#8221; Balkrishna tweeted the letter as &#8220;The resolution of AYUSH controversy, finally!&#8221; However, the letter was only an acknowledgement of the documents submitted by Patanjali Ayurved. In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1633690\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">statement<\/a> released a day earlier, the AYUSH Ministry had directed the company to submits documents to prove the drug&#8217;s efficacy. &#8220;Ministry will have the study documents verified for validation of the data of the research outcome,&#8221; reads the letter.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"und\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/moayush?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@moayush<\/a> \u0915\u0947 \u0935\u093f\u0935\u093e\u0926 \u0915\u0940 \u092a\u0942\u0930\u094d\u0923\u093e\u0939\u0941\u0924\u093f!<br \/>\nThe resolution of AYUSH controversy, finally! <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/yogrishiramdev?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@yogrishiramdev<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/TkZGkghWiQ\">pic.twitter.com\/TkZGkghWiQ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Acharya Balkrishna (@Ach_Balkrishna) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Ach_Balkrishna\/status\/1275730062139064324?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 24, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That Patanjali Ayurved submitted its research for verification was also reported in the media. As per the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/news\/india\/patanjali-submitted-report-on-its-covid-19-drug-to-ayush-ministry-naik-11593006379626.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">latest update<\/a>, Union Minister of State in the AYUSH Ministry Shripad Naik said that the government will look into the report and decide about giving final permissions to the company.<\/p>\n<p>It is also noteworthy that Patanjali Ayurved had applied for license approval before promotion. However, &#8220;a licencing officer from the Uttarakhand government&#8217;s Ayurved department (which falls under the AYUSH Ministry) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiatoday.in\/india\/story\/patanjali-ayurved-baba-ramdev-coronavirus-cure-coronil-ayush-ministry-1692242-2020-06-24\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said the approval application<\/a> for Coronil did not mention coronavirus.&#8221; The application only got licence approval as an immunity booster and for cough and fever.<\/p>\n<p>Patanjali&#8217;s Coronil has therefore not been approved as an effective treatment to cure coronavirus infections. Its reports are under review with the AYUSH Ministry. Alt News had recently published a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/coronil-lacks-scientific-basis-as-a-cure-for-covid-19-based-on-evidence-shared-by-patanjali\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sci-check<\/a> which inferred that none of the scientific proofs submitted by Patanjali Ayurved suggests the efficacy of Coronil as a treatment for Covid-19.
