Krishnam claimed that members of the Brahman community burned the flags. Alt News has received multiple requests on Twitter to fact-check this image.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-71292 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/07\/Screenshot-2020-07-17-at-13.19.16.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"658\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/07\/Screenshot-2020-07-17-at-13.19.16.jpg 599w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/07\/Screenshot-2020-07-17-at-13.19.16-273x300.jpg 273w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 599px) 100vw, 599px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Fact-check<\/h4>\n<p>Alt News performed a reverse image search using multiple search engines but could not find relevant results. However, we came across a 2019 fact-check report by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vishvasnews.com\/politics\/fact-check-of-bjp-flag-burning-in-siwan-bihar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vishvas News<\/a>. According to the report, the image was viral last year with a similar claim. As per their investigation, the building in the background resembles a BJP office and the turban worn by the politician in the BJP banner resembles a Rajasthani turban. Using this as a clue they performed a reverse image search and found that Dainik Bhaskar had published the image in their article around 2018 assembly elections in Rajasthan.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vishvasnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/05\/Untitled-12-3-1024x783.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Supporters of local politician Hansraj Patel burnt the effigies of UP BJP organization general secretary Sunil Bansal and Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-71294 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/07\/Screenshot-2020-07-17-at-13.50.32.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"985\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/07\/Screenshot-2020-07-17-at-13.50.32.jpg 985w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/07\/Screenshot-2020-07-17-at-13.50.32-300x122.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/07\/Screenshot-2020-07-17-at-13.50.32-768x312.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 985px) 100vw, 985px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Alt News tried to find the Dainik Bhaskar report, however, it is no longer available online. We did find a cached preview of the 2018 article on <a href=\"https:\/\/webcache.googleusercontent.com\/search?q=cache:https:\/\/www.bhaskar.com\/rajasthan\/zila-news\/news\/in-the-last-list-of-bjp-candidates-made-by-mukesh-goyal-from-kotputli-044121-3234168.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Google<\/a>, but it doesn&#8217;t include the viral image (<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/WibOy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">archive link<\/a>). However, after a keyword search on YouTube, we found that the channel Lokvarta uploaded a news report where the burning of flags has been captured on video.<\/p>\n<p>[youtube https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=H9W1cLp9my4?start=74]<\/p>\n<p>Thus, Acharya Pramod Krishnam&#8217;s claim that Brahmans burnt BJP flags is false.
