According to the report, her father also issued a tweet which said, &#8220;No father can bear injustice on his daughter. href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/wExnO\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hindi<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/KHQBb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">English<\/a> reports. <a href=\"https:\/\/hindi.news18.com\/news\/maharashtra\/sushant-singh-rajput-death-case-drug-connection-rhea-chakraborty-arrest-live-updates-on-9-september-3231117.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">News18<\/a> also broadcast the tweet as part of its live updates on the case. <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/3Plsk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Times Now Hindi<\/a> carried a similar report and so did <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Uf6rloPQncA\">NYOOOZ TV YouTube channel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-75061 \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<h4><strong>Fact-check<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The Twitter handle that media organisations were claiming belonged to Rhea Chakraborty&#8217;s father Indrajit Chakraborty is actually a fake one, which had the username <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/*\/https:\/twitter.com\/WeWantRahuI*\">@WeWantRahul<\/a> only a few days ago. The <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/IndrajitChakra\/status\/1303366449277186049\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">user running this account posted a tweet following the arrest of the actress<\/a> in which they wrote, &#8220;Please trend for my daughter. #JusticeFor Rhea. Please INDIA, help.&#8221; This tweet received thousands of likes and retweets. After this, the user made a slew of tweets related to this matter. These were then picked up by news channels and falsely circulated as the real Indrajit Chakraborty&#8217;s social media activity.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"715\" height=\"398\" class=\"wp-image-75069 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/09\/indrajit-chakra-1.jpeg\" alt=\"indrajit chakra\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/09\/indrajit-chakra-1.jpeg 715w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/09\/indrajit-chakra-1-300x168.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/09\/indrajit-chakra-1-215x120.jpeg 215w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 715px) 100vw, 715px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When we looked at some of the older tweets that had been posted by this account, we found that it had changed its Twitter username to @IndrajitChakra and display name (which appears above the username), to \u2018Indrajit Chakraborty&#8217; on September 6. Also on this day, the user had posted some tweets with #StandwithRheaChakraborty and #IamWithRhea hashtags. The username <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WeWantRahuI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@WeWantRahul<\/a> can actually be seen in another user\u2019s reply to a tweet posted by the account from the same day too.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"677\" height=\"703\" class=\"wp-image-75070 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/09\/wewantrahul-1.jpeg\" alt=\"wewantrahul\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/09\/wewantrahul-1.jpeg 677w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/09\/wewantrahul-1-289x300.jpeg 289w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 677px) 100vw, 677px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A few hours later on September 6, the user changed their username to @IndrajitChakra. We found a tweet from the same day <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/IndrajitChakra\/status\/1302564684554330113\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">which reads<\/a>, &#8220;Please help a helpless father #JusticeForRhea&#8221;. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/IndrajitChakra\/status\/1302564684554330113\">Another tweet<\/a> dated September 6 says, &#8220;My account has been reported 500 times in last one hour (sic). I will not STOP. Its about my family. @Tweet2Rhea is INNOCENT.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>We looked through the previous iterations of the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WeWantRahuI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@WeWantRahul<\/a> Twitter handle on Wayback Machine. This is a web archive portal that automatically takes snapshots of web pages at different points of time. Upon looking through the archived links of this handle, we found that it used to be <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20200601171902if_\/https:\/twitter.com\/WeWantRahuI\/status\/1267501722055786499\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a Rahul Gandhi fan account<\/a> at one point, with a display name that read, &#8216;Rahul Gandhi as next PM of INDIA&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1415\" height=\"913\" class=\"wp-image-75071\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/09\/we-wantrahul-1.jpeg\" alt=\"we wantrahul\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/09\/we-wantrahul-1.jpeg 1415w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/09\/we-wantrahul-1-300x194.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/09\/we-wantrahul-1-1024x661.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/09\/we-wantrahul-1-768x496.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/09\/we-wantrahul-1-990x639.jpeg 990w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/09\/we-wantrahul-1-1320x852.jpeg 1320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1415px) 100vw, 1415px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The link to the tweet seen in the screenshot above is https:\/\/twitter.com\/WeWantRahuI\/status\/1267501722055786499. If <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/IndrajitChakra\/status\/1267501722055786499\">you copy-paste the link<\/a>, you will find it redirects to the handle created in the name of Indrajit Chakraborty. This is possible only when a Twitter user changes their username. This has been explained in the video below.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Twitter handle @WeWantRahul redirects to @IndrajitChakra\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/456195863?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"1290\" height=\"726\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>To sum it up, a Twitter user had changed their username to Indrajit Chakraborty, the father of actor Rhea Chakraborty. After changing their username and display name, this account began tweeting in support of Rhea. Its report has now described this Twitter handle as unverified, but they have not issued any explanation for these edits. At the same time, the Hindi website of the channel has instead presented their old article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abplive.com\/entertainment\/bollywood\/rhea-chakraborty-father-indrajit-react-over-judicial-custody-of-actress-says-i-should-die-1556590#:~:text=%E0%A4%B8%E0%A5%8B%E0%A4%B6%E0%A4%B2%20%E0%A4%AE%E0%A5%80%E0%A4%A1%E0%A4%BF%E0%A4%AF%E0%A4%BE%20%E0%A4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">as a fact-check report<\/a>. This becomes clear once you look at the URL of the piece. Previously, Aaj Tak showed tweets claiming to be by the late actor\u2019s father <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/hindi\/ians-media-outlets-fall-for-fake-twitter-account-of-sushant-singh-rajputs-father\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">in a report<\/a>, when in fact, these tweets were fake. It also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/hindi\/aaj-tak-shares-fake-last-tweets-of-late-actor-sushant-singh-rajput-later-deletes-report\/\">used tweets from a fake account<\/a> impersonating Rajput as part of its story on the actor&#8217;s final tweets. Recently, Times Now also ran a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/hindi\/times-now-runs-tweet-by-fake-account-of-sushant-singh-rajputs-sister-as-breaking-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tweet posted by a fake account<\/a> posing as Rajput&#8217;s sister as &#8216;breaking news&#8217;.
