(Hathras&#8217;s daughter was also a topper in studies. Her welcome is worth watching.)&#8221; The post has garnered more than 15,000 shares so far.<\/p>\n<p>The Hathras victim had succumbed to her injuries on September 29 in Delhi&#8217;s Safdarjung hospital and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ndtv.com\/india-news\/video-up-hathras-woman-family-threw-themselves-on-ambulance-to-stop-cremation-2303078\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reportedly<\/a> cremated by Uttar Pradesh police in the wee hours of September 30 without her parents&#8217; consent. Several other individuals on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/search\/videos\/?q=%E0%A4%B9%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%A5%E0%A4%B0%E0%A4%B8%20%E0%A4%AA%E0%A5%9D%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%88%20%E0%A4%B8%E0%A5%8D%E0%A4%B5%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%97%E0%A4%A4%20%E0%A4%B2%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%AF%E0%A4%95\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%E0%A4%B9%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%A5%E0%A4%B0%E0%A4%B8%20%E0%A4%AA%E0%A5%9D%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%88%20%E0%A4%B8%E0%A5%8D%E0%A4%B5%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%97%E0%A4%A4%20%E0%A4%B2%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%AF%E0%A4%95%20filter%3Avideos&amp;src=typed_query&amp;f=live\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter<\/a> shared the video with the same message.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-77193 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/10\/SSViral.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"513\" height=\"601\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/10\/SSViral.png 513w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/10\/SSViral-256x300.png 256w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 513px) 100vw, 513px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Fact-check<\/h4>\n<p>Alt News broke the video into multiple keyframes and reverse searched them on different search engines such as Bing, Yandex and Google. One of the searches on Yandex revealed that the same video was uploaded by a YouTube user MD Adil Fayaz on February 19, 2020.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-77194\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/10\/SSyoutube.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1821\" height=\"549\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/10\/SSyoutube.jpg 1821w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/10\/SSyoutube-300x90.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/10\/SSyoutube-1024x309.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/10\/SSyoutube-768x232.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/10\/SSyoutube-1536x463.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1821px) 100vw, 1821px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We found that MD Adil Fayaz was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=272483637237159&amp;set=a.134506091034915\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">felicitated<\/a> by an online marketing company called &#8220;Safe Shop&#8221;. Alt News got in touch with Adil Fayaz who informed that the woman is a senior associate with Safe Shop. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boomlive.in\/fake-news\/unrelated-video-of-woman-being-felicitated-viral-with-hathras-twist-10041\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Boomlive<\/a> also spoke with officials at Safe Shop, Hyderabad and confirmed the same. The video is from 2019 or early 2020, the officials informed.<\/p>\n<p>It is noteworthy that in a statement given to <a href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/india\/hathras-case-victim-death-protests-up-police-6690171\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Indian Express<\/a>, the Hathras victim&#8217;s mother said that she was pulled out of school in class 5.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, an old and unrelated video was shared as the Hathras victim being felicitated by a crowd for her academic success.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A video of a young woman walking amongst a group of people bowing to her, touching her feet and offering flowers is doing the rounds on social media.
