The post is in reference to a 2016 video where Baraiya said that scheduled caste groups should wake up before <em>savarnas<\/em> transform India into a Hindu nation. He also said that <em>savarnas<\/em> who ask Muslims to leave the country should leave first because they came to India after Muslims. The statement was not taken well by upper-caste communities. Speaking with media outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naidunia.com\/madhya-pradesh\/bhopal-controversial-statement-of-congress-candidate-phool-singh-baraiya-scheduled-caste-and-muslim-child-of-same-father-6443768\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nai Dunia<\/a>, Baraiya said that the video was &#8220;fake&#8221; and part of the BJP&#8217;s propaganda.<\/p>\n<p>The mob attack clip has also been shared on Facebook. It was then debunked <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/2016-video-of-ruckus-during-union-minister-babul-supriyos-visit-shared-as-attack-on-dr-harsh-vardhan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">in October 2020<\/a> when it was shared as Health Minister Harsh Vardhan thrashed by an angry mob. But the visuals show an attack on BJP MP Babul Supriyo\u2019s convoy in October 2016 in West Bengal. ABP News had stated in a video report dated October 19, 2016, that Supriyo\u2019s convoy had been attacked by Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporters in Asansol.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"TMC supporters attack Babul Supriyo in Asansol\" width=\"1290\" height=\"968\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VeI5mCa6QNg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patrika.com\/kolkata-news\/union-minister-of-state-attack-babul-supriyo-1424603\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">piece dated October 20, 2016<\/a>, Patrika reported that BJP supporters in the state had beaten several butchers, accusing them of cow smuggling. They planned to protest in front of TMC leader Moloy Ghatak\u2019s house. However, Supriyo&#8217;s convoy was attacked before they could put this in motion. District BJP leader Subrata Mishra was also injured during the ruckus. After the incident, Supriyo took to Twitter accusing TMC leader Ghatak of orchestrating the whole affair.<\/p>\n<p>ANI had reported on the incident where the man attacked is visible.<\/p>\n<blockquote
