The original photo had been published in <a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2020\/10\/13\/africa\/global-end-sars-protests-nigeria-intl\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a CNN report<\/a> dated October 13, 2020. In this photo, people can be seen carrying placards and banners with slogans that have nothing to do with the late actor. Their posters originally read &#8216;Reform Police&#8217;, &#8216;Disband Sars&#8217;, and &#8216;Sars Authorized Criminals&#8217; as shown below.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"883\" height=\"290\" class=\"wp-image-78424 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/10\/word-image-1.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/10\/word-image-1.jpg 883w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/10\/word-image-1-300x99.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/10\/word-image-1-768x252.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 883px) 100vw, 883px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to the CNN report, this picture was taken during a protest of the &#8216;END SARS&#8217; movement against police brutality in Nigeria. The demonstration was being held by young people protesting against the Police Unit Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Nigeria over certain violent incidents. The Nigerian people have accused the squad of kidnapping, police brutality, harassment, and extortion. Apart from this, the demonstration was also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.premiumtimesng.com\/entertainment\/naija-fashion\/419608-endsars-john-boyega-trey-songz-estelle-other-international-celebrities-kick-against-police-brutality.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">covered by Premium Times<\/a>, a Nigerian newspaper.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, photographs of a protest against police brutality in Nigeria were edited and circulated on social media.
