Was it even necessary to handcuff her?&#8221; This post gained over 1,000 likes and 800 comments. As per the report, the woman was <\/span>arrested by the police after she poured soup over a stranger\u2019s head and bit him. It added that the woman&#8217;s relative was present at the scene but was unable to calm her down. The victim was taken to the Tan Tock Seng Hospital.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-78465 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/10\/Woman-arrested-after-she-allegedly-poured-soup-on-stranger-spat-at-him-and-bit-his-arm-TODAYonline.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"725\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/10\/Woman-arrested-after-she-allegedly-poured-soup-on-stranger-spat-at-him-and-bit-his-arm-TODAYonline.jpg 725w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/10\/Woman-arrested-after-she-allegedly-poured-soup-on-stranger-spat-at-him-and-bit-his-arm-TODAYonline-283x300.jpg 283w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 725px) 100vw, 725px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The police told Today Online, &#8220;The woman is also being investigated for voluntarily causing hurt and using criminal force to deter a public servant from carrying out his duties. She had hurled verbal abuse and also spat on the officers in the process.&#8221; The woman is reportedly being treated at a mental health institution.<\/p>\n<p>Singaporean leader M Ravi criticised the police in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ravi.mravi.7\/videos\/10214396323062370\/?t=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook post<\/a> wrote that the arrest was an abuse of power as the woman was apprehended by three male cops and a female officer. He said that a lawyer sent him the video to help the woman.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asiaone.com\/singapore\/woman-viral-clip-arrested-allegedly-spitting-and-biting-man-novena-square\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Asia One<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/stomp.straitstimes.com\/singapore-seen\/woman-allegedly-poured-soup-over-mans-head-at-novena-square-bit-his-hand-and-verbally\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Stomp<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/mothership.sg\/2020\/10\/velocity-novena-woman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mothership<\/a> also reported about the
