The same video was also shared last year after French teacher Samuel Paty was beheaded by a Muslim fundamentalist for showing Prophet Muhammed’s caricature in class.<\/p>\n

French President Emmanuel Macron had backed the display of the cartoon. Macron’s comments resulted in backlash from several Muslim countries. On November 1, 2020<\/a>\u00a0over 20 European Muslim organisations called on Macron to end his \u201cdivisive rhetoric\u201d. In response to the controversy, Macron said<\/a>, \u201cI understand the feelings this stirs, I respect them. But I want you to understand my role: my role is to calm things down as I\u2019m doing here, and to protect those rights.\u201d<\/p>\n

This video was shared claiming that French Muslims came out on the streets to pray in protest and blocked traffic.<\/p>\n
