If an Indian leader were indeed invited to an American president&#8217;s inauguration, it would have undoubtedly received widespread media coverage. In fact, a number of media outlets have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=former+indian+prime+minister+dr.+manmohan+singh+get+invitation+of+joe+biden&amp;sxsrf=ALeKk02ALNuENqUXhuv31gx0_M53_ASbXw:1605016869676&amp;source=lnms&amp;tbm=nws&amp;sa=X&amp;ved=2ahUKEwjXkYDjkfjsAhXMwzgGHTq_AEcQ_AUoAXoECAsQAw&amp;biw=1280&amp;bih=578\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">rubbished the claims<\/a> of Dr Manmohan Singh being invited for the swearing-in ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, while searching for Joe Biden&#8217;s swearing-in ceremony, we found an article in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/11\/09\/us\/politics\/inauguration-biden-harris.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The New York Times<\/a> from November 9, 2020. It states that only American officials and some well-known public figures will take part in the ceremony.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-80142 \" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/11\/word-image-6-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"681\" height=\"482\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/11\/word-image-6-1.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/11\/word-image-6-1-300x212.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/11\/word-image-6-1-768x543.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 681px) 100vw, 681px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The event will be organised by the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremony (JCCIC). On the JCCIC website, we found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inaugural.senate.gov\/press_release\/joint-congressional-committee-on-inaugural-ceremonies-kicks-off-planning-for-59th-presidential-inauguration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a press release dated July 1, 2020<\/a>, with the latest update. The press release gives details of the preparations for the swearing-in ceremony. It contains no information about the list of attendees or invites. It is worth noting that guests cannot enter without <a href=\"https:\/\/www.senate.gov\/artandhistory\/art\/presidential_inaugurations\/presidential_inauguration_introduction.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">an invitation or ticket<\/a>. At the time of writing, there was no news of invitations to Biden&#8217;s swearing-in ceremony being sent out.<\/p>\n<p>Alt News reached out to Daman Singh, daughter of former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, to uncover the truth behind this claim. She informed us that Dr Singh had no knowledge of the matter.<\/p>\n<p>In 2009, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sandiegouniontribune.com\/sdut-obama-inauguration-foreign-011209-2009jan12-story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">no foreign leaders<\/a> were invited to former US President Barack Obama&#8217;s swearing-in ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, pictures of Dr Singh, Biden, and Clinton accompanying the claim are actually from <a href=\"https:\/\/2009-2017.state.gov\/r\/pa\/ei\/pix\/2009a\/luncheon\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">November 24, 2009<\/a>, when then-Secretary of State Clinton and then-Vice President Biden organised a lunch program for the former Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh. This is when these photos were also taken.
