Alt News did a Google reverse search of the video&#8217;s keyframes with the help of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=1&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=2ahUKEwjd_YOyzPndAhUS3FMKHRmSDVwQFjAAegQIAhAC&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.invid-project.eu%2F&amp;usg=AOvVaw1izr_mcf1Nzkb5BJ4NmlEs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Invid<\/a>, a browser extension and found a YouTube video <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=OrRyQkNUW_0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">posted<\/a> on September 23, 2018 captioned, &#8220;Krishnanagar Bongaon Local Train- Ranaghat Station&#8221;. In the video, people can be heard speaking Bengali.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Krishnanagar Bongaon Local Train- Ranaghat Station\" width=\"1290\" height=\"726\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OrRyQkNUW_0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, we did a Facebook search with a similar keyword, &#8220;Ranaghat station&#8221; and found a video by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/abhinandan.bhattacharjee.754\/videos\/554089681712427\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">an individual<\/a> credited to a Facebook user named Sumanta Kumar Nathm which was posted on September 23, 2018.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-20699\" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/10\/Selection_184.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2803\" height=\"1656\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/10\/Selection_184.jpg 2803w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/10\/Selection_184-300x177.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/10\/Selection_184-768x454.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/10\/Selection_184-1024x605.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/10\/Selection_184-696x411.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/10\/Selection_184-1068x631.jpg 1068w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2018\/10\/Selection_184-711x420.jpg 711w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2803px) 100vw, 2803px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Alt News spoke to Sumanta Kumar who claims to have shot the video. He said, &#8220;I had shot the video around 8:30 am when I saw this crowd of students at the station. There was an examination for (the post of) constable that day.&#8221; Kumar sent us a video shot on October 10, 2018 from the same railway station to verify the location.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ranaghat Junction\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/294311644?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"640\" height=\"352\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>As claimed by Kumar, there was a preliminary written test for the recruitment to the post of constable in West Bengal police on September 23, 2018. We found <a href=\"http:\/\/policewb.gov.in\/wbp\/recruit\/const-2018\/Notice-030918.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a notice<\/a> issued by the West Bengal police which stated the same. While Alt News could independently verify the claim that the video was shot by Sumanta Kumar, it is clear that the video was taken in West Bengal. More importantly, the fact that it is two years old proves it cannot be related to the coronavirus pandemic. It is noteworthy that passenger trains have not started running in the country. Currently, 230 special trains were made operational and the government is in talks with the Railways to start more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/news\/national\/coronavirus-unlock-indian-railways-plans-more-special-trains\/article32499104.ece\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">special trains<\/a> in high demand areas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A video of a massive crowd trying to board a train has been shared on social media with the claim that it&#8217;s a recent incident.
