Strong barricading, police and security forces have been deployed at the Delhi border to prevent the protestors from reaching the capital. Since the early hours of November 26, farmers tried to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ANI\/status\/1331870986300399616\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">continue their march<\/a>, tearing down the barricades at the Patiala-Ambala highway and braving rounds of water cannons and tear gas. The Indian Youth Congress shared a few pictures claiming they represent the ongoing police action on farmers. Apart from him, Congress leaders Saral Patel, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ArchanaDalmia\/status\/1331921635054596096\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Archana Dalmia<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/CR3e7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Manish Tiwari<\/a> also used similar photos in their tweets about the current farmers&#8217; protest. An article in The Hindu, published on October 2, 2018, states that farmers were trying to break through the barricades at the UP-Delhi border of Ghaziabad. This prompted the police to use tear gas and water cannons to disperse the crowd. These farmers were marching in the Kisan Kranti Padyatra, which started from Haridwar on September 23, 2018. They were supposed to reach Delhi\u2019s Kisan Ghat but were not allowed to enter the city. On October 2, 2018, <a href=\"https:\/\/khabar.ndtv.com\/video\/show\/news\/farmers-hold-fort-at-delhi-up-border-reject-govts-assurances-495425\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NDTV<\/a> reported that the farmers had gathered at the border of the state with a 15-point list of demands, including the implementation of the Swaminathan Commission report, loan waivers, and the payment of pending sugarcane dues.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-81085 \" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/11\/word-image-8-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"729\" height=\"662\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Second photo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Another such image people are claiming is recent is actually from 2018&#8217;s Kisan Kranti Padyatra. It was taken from a different angle as farmers were trying to tear down the barricades and police were using water cannons to stop them. It was also published in Deccan Herald on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deccanherald.com\/national\/breaking-farmers-march-delhi-695709.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">October 3, 2018<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-81086 \" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/11\/word-image-8-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"740\" height=\"718\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/11\/word-image-8-3.jpg 928w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/11\/word-image-8-3-300x291.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/11\/word-image-8-3-768x746.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 740px) 100vw, 740px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Third photo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An India TV report <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiatvnews.com\/news\/india-kisan-kranti-padyatra-live-updates-bku-march-protesting-farmers-delhi-up-border-loan-waiver-traffic-advisory-prohibitory-orders-467505\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">from October 2, 2018<\/a>, said that this picture too represents the same protest.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-81087 \" src=\"http:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/11\/word-image-8-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"725\" height=\"573\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Therefore, Congress leaders falsely shared images from the farmers&#8217; protests in 2018 as the recent march to New Delhi.
